On 11/23/20 I was at quirk Chrysler Jeep dealer getting an oil change and I was informed that both front lower control arms needed to be replaced the vehicle has only 33,906 miles. 2018 Jeep Compass vehicles were recalled for this same issue. This is a safety issue to have these parts fail prematurely.

While driving I got a code on the car dash that read something like 'unable to drive' then as turning the bend in road at 20/25mph the car started pulling to left steering the wheel became too hard and I heard a snap noise turns out my ball joint snapped on the Jeep! over 5000 in damage and it was not due to impact! it snapped clean off then ended up causing my to swop a parked car. Thankfully wasn't on highway your 2017 compasses have severe electrical issues the car doesn't go right away when shifted to desired gear and on top of it all your ball joints are faulty! claim responsibility and recall this I've seen a lot of open source reporting of the same issue. Please do not wait until a mortality occurs for you to do something! assemble these care correctly!!! I will not be buying or driving another Jeep again the new model compasses aren't safe for anyone. Oddly prior to the accident the car has been at jim shorkey dealership every 2 months or so for some repair from sway bars to tire rods and everything else. Less than 26,000 miles on it. Scheduled an appt to take it to the dealer last Thursday the appointment was scheduled for Tuesday 3/17 but the accident ended up occurring 3/14... only if the dealer had let me bring it sooner this wouldn't have happened.

Engine has excessive oil consumption which causes the vehicle to just stall out. Recommended 5000 oil changes but dealers will say 3000 and to check oil every 2 days because it may need 4-5 qts between oil changes. This started within 5 months of driving it off the showroom floor. Dealer and Chrysler Corp are aware of issues but no fix has been discovered not do they care. My daughter and her 2 babies were almost killed when it just stalled exiting a major freeway and an 18 wheeler right behind her...case manager (3rd case since 2017) at fca was 'oh, so scary'. this is a serious, deadly issue and dealers omit things from the system, perform the consumption tests improperly or don't record them at all so they will not have to do what's right. The vehicle will totally shut down while turning, emergency brake will apply and it takes a bit to get it started again. Sometimes lights on dash will all flash on or sometimes just the oil light (even within 2 weeks of an oil change).

The contact owns a 2017 Jeep Compass. While driving 25 mph, the contact heard an abnormal noise. The vehicle was taken to bud clary moses lake Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram (located at 12174 N frontage rd, moses lake, wa 98837, (509) 765-3461) where it was initially diagnosed that the driver and passenger side cv axles needed to be replaced. The second time the dealer diagnosed that the driver and passenger side ball joints needed to be replaced. The parts were not available and the vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified. The failure mileage was 29,000.

My Jeep compas was built 8-2016 and is making a extremely loud grinding noise. I took my vehicle to get looked at and they rotated the tires. They stated the tires are in excellent condition and stated that it maybe the axel or internally because exterior visual inspection everything was fine. I came home and put the car in park and it was still rolling and I put the emergency brake on and that was making a grinding noise also. I no longer feel safe driving my vehicle. I need my vehicle to be added to recall T-26 as I am not going to pay for these repairs upfront. The grinding noise just seems to be getting louder. I do not want to operate the vehicle and loose control while driving my kids to school or even just driving to the dealership for repairs.
