About These NHTSA Complaints:
The NHTSA is the US gov't agency tasked with vehicle safety. Complaints can be spread across multiple & redundant categories, & are not organized by problem. See the Back button — blue bar at the very top of the page — to explore more.
I was turning a corner and as soon as I made the turn, the truck completely stalled. Lights were on and the screen was prompting me to step on the brake and press start even though the gear was on Drive. The gear wouldn't shift to neutral to at least remove the car from the busy street. The dash lights were flashing and as I tried to restart the car, it just made a grinding sound. Almost got hit by two other vehicles. No other symptoms observed other than when on a freeway a few months ago, the vehicle was having difficulty switching to a higher gear in a stop and go traffic. It was stuck at 30mph even when gas pedal was engaged and everyone behind and around were picking up higher speed than 30.

Every time I fill up with gas it splashes up and over quite a bit. I have tried many different ways to get it to stop splashing. Slowed down the flow, changed positions of the tube. Slowed down the flow to try and not let it splash up towards the end of the fill. As soon as it gets close, it splashes over, on my fender, and about a 1 foot gas spot on the ground every time. I have not been to the dealer yet, I have decided to report this online, to see if anyone else has, and I feel this is a safety and hazard issue to the environment.

I have 2 Jeep gladiators and both are gasoline powered. The problem is the fuel nozzle cannot go fully into the receptacle to add gas. This causes the fuel nozzle to not sense when to click/stop the fuel coming from the gas station pump when the tank and filler hose of the Jeep are full. The result is that gasoline splashes out of the refueling receptacle and then both onto me and also down the side of the bed of the Gladiator on the drivers side where the fuel refill receptacle is located. I put a camera borescope into the fill nozzle and this obstruction can be seen in the attachment.

Every single time I try to fill my gas tank, at any gas station, the gas pours out and shoots up fast out of the tank fill hole. I have even slowed down filling, and when I hear it getting close coming up the pipe, I let of the pump handle and it will still come up and splash out. I have 3100 miles on it, and it has done it every single time. I have to wipe gas off my fender and it splashes enough to run down on the ground every time. I think this is an immediate safety and environmental issue.
