I was going 55 miles an hour on H1 in Hawaii when the front end began to shake and transmit a medium but violent vibration through the steering wheel. a friend of mine was following me in the adjacent lane and he thought the front end was going to come off the Grand Cherokee. I stareted to slow down from the vilonet vibration and it got worst I got it into the emergency lane and stopped before we got hurt. It was extremey violent if my wife had been driving this piece of sh*t whe would have had a 5 car pile up. Im goig to fix this piece of sh*t so someone doesnt get hurt and then Im going to sell it and never by a f*cking jeep or dodge again. F*CK YOU Dodge Jeep Chrysler.

Death Wobble so severe I can't drive freeways speeds. I'm a diesel mechanic for over 20 years & have taken it any shop that supposedly knows about the Jeep Death Wobble Problem. Spent more on front end parts & tires & time than vehicle value. Have replaced every suspension part on front end with tires & rims. But still get DW between 45 & 55 mph. Car front end never wrecked. DW so severe on freeway one day it caused me to swerve & sideswiped a car & hit my head.

I was just researching my issue and found this site. Haven't really dug into anything yet, but I'll post my experience in the hopes it narrowed down a solution to this issue.
Went to Reno with my wife. On the way there, while drive some of the awesome (/s) California back county highways, I drifted over the center line on a curve. Now, in that area, they decided to add a rumble strip like feature to the center line. Unlike the rumble strips I'm used to, these ones are more like a series of potholes along either side of the line. Well, I hit these holes and got the death wobble. Never experienced it before, so slammed on the brakes and checked for a flat, then checked for broken suspension. Didn't see nothing, and with a prayer, got back on the road. Issue didn't re-occur until the return trip. Same section of highway, hit the strip again, and got the death wobble twice more. The second time, I slowed down a bit more gradually. The wobble went away after I dropped below 20mph or so.
Still haven't had time to dig into my front end at all, but I think I do have a small comment on the issue. It feels like something is over correcting for the sudden load on the suspension. I have to wonder if there is a location somewhere where a spring or hydraulic dampener could be installed to absorb some of the energy and allow the system to return to equilibrium.
