Component (diode) on 60 pin PCM has a short causing injector number 6 to stick wide open. Result is a cylinder compressing fuel which can lead to explosion, also raw fuel escaping out of the tail pipe and large amounts of smoke. Gasoline pulls the oil off of cylinder wall causing excessive friction and engine damage along with catalytic converter damage. If rear ended when injector is sticking open could cause explosion or fire! I have confirmed this on 3 other 93-95 Grand Cherokee obd I models as well. Jeep was idling near someone welding and the injector stuck open and started a fire. Fire was exstinguished immediately with dirt and water. No physical damages occurred just a scare. I moved injector 6 plug to 8, then 8 stuck open, upon putting pressure on the computer connector I realized the injector would operate normally again. Been happening for months, just now found the root cause. Will upload pics later if it will let me. I can set fire to the ground where the tailpipe is when injector is stuck open.

The contact owns a 1995 Jeep Grand Cherokee. The contact received notification of NHTSA campaign numbers: (02V053000 (power train) and 13V252000 (fuel system, gasoline, structure) months ago and contacted the dealer to schedule the recall repair appointments, the dealer stated that they would follow up to provide an available appointment and the dealer never called to schedule the repairs. In addition, the contact was driving at a highway rate of speed over un-leveled land and the vehicle was shaking violently with a "death wobble". a mechanic inspected the vehicle. The vehicle was not yet inspected and diagnosed by a dealer. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and the recall repairs so the contact was waiting for them to determine if they may be able to provide a solution and address the two recall repairs with the dealer. The approximate failure mileage was not available. Parts distribution disconnect.

We have a 1995 Jeep Grand Cherokee that has an exposed plastic gas tank in the rear and it has no protection if rear-ended it is a fire or explosion waiting to happen! the Jeep dealer installed a flimsy trailer hitch that exposes the tank even more than the after market hitch I removed to get the Jeep dealers fix. We are very disappointed and believe our life is in danger every time we drive our 95 Jeep Grand Cherokee lerado. They should install a stronger tank along with a very strong skid plate that bends up behind the tank to add to protecting the tank. Along with a much stronger hitch.

Our daughter purchased this vehicle from the original owner and it currently has less than 40,000 documented driven miles. She has spent several thousand dollars replacing old/rusted/unsafe suspension parts, with the intent of keeping the vehicle for many/years. The newspaper articles, that I've read, report that she may only be paid an additional $ $1,000 above current retail value. She does not wish to get rid of this vehicle for such a small dollar amount, but wants the vehicle correctly repaired so that she may continue to drive it. What options, relative to keeping this vehicle, does she have" should she seek assistance from any federal/state/local agencies" your assistance/guidance will be much appreciated. I am filing this statement on behalf of our daughter, who owns the Jeep.

We went to sternberg (Jeep dealer) in jasper Indiana to get the recall problem fixed and they told us it was too rusted and they could not do the needed repairs because of the rust. They did not give us any options as to how to fix this issue with the fuel tank. We have to drive this vehicle because we can not afford to purchase a new vehicle. We can not sell this vehicle because it can not be fixed. So we will be driving around with a vehicle that could explode or catch fire if we are in an accident. I am very upset by this and I really thought the government would do more to help the average consumer. I do know that if anything happens to myself or my family or my dogs my attorney will be contacting you and the Jeep manufacturer. Please let me know how this can be remedied so no one in my family is injured by this vehicle and not driving it is not an option. I believe this would be the case with most of americans as employment is a little difficult to get right now.
