Consumer complained about a safety recall concerning automatic transmission: Lever and linkages: Floor shift. The replacement part, according to the dealership, was designed to work this way. It made car unsafe. The gear shift line didn't match the gear. Will not lock into position. With the smallest of nudges it will come out of drive or reverse without pressing the release, and it will go between all three gears. The car was working perfectly before recall repairs were done. Currently, the car is unsafe to drive. Breck Dodge dealership claimed the car was suppose to work like this, burt refused to say the car was unsafe. Contacted manufacturer's regional manager, and did not call me back. Dealership claimed that consumer refused to bring car in. Consumer call another dealership and their remedy was the same as the last dealership. The second dealership stated that this was a common thing, and they have received similar complaints.

Recall 02V053000 concerning inadvertent vehicle movement. When the vehicle is in the drive position and the ignition is shut off the vehicle moves backwards unassisted. Consumer has contacted the manufacturer, and has been told that the vehicle has to be placed back in park before turning off the vehicle to keep it from moving backward.

The vehicle was taken to the dealer for a recall (02V053000) repair related to inadvertent vehicle movement. After a couple hours consumer checked on the vehicle. The service advisor told the consumer that the parts were not available and that the keys to his vehicle were lost. The dealer gave the consumer a file# 11388660. The consumer made two calls to the service manager but he never apologized or offered to pay for the lost keys.

The consumer received recall notice #02V053000 concerning inadvertent vehicle movement. The consumer made an appointment with mother lode motors on 5/30/2003. Upon arrival for the appointment the consumer was told there were no parts available. The dealer was suppose to call the consumer when the parts became available. Consumer received a recall letter for the shifter, coming out of gear. The dealer stated there was no problem at this time. One month later vehicle was in park and jumped into reverse and hit a tree.
