Owner of 1996 Jeep Cherokee - problems with transfer case began in 1998-1999, at 50, 000 miles. Transfer case has been replaced and rebuilt on 3 occasions. Feb 25, 2003 took vehicle to dealership - same problem, need to replace transfer case again. Have been advised that once our warranty expires, they will not warranty the transfer case replacement. Will be happy to provide details and records of over 17 repairs to this vehicle. After second transfer case replacement contacted Chrysler because we felt this was a defective part. Each time it is replaced or repaired, the repair does not last. Daimler Chrysler representative refused to meet with us to review problems.
