The driver's door failed on my 1998 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo, meaning that metal fatigue and nothing more than metal fatigue caused the metal containing the door latch bold mechanism to literally deteriorate and the door had to be replaced. Daimler-Chrysler refused to acknowledge or pay for the defect.
