Grand Cherokee

  • 102,000 miles
The contact owns a 1998 Jeep Grand Cherokee. While driving various speeds, the vehicle stalls without warning. Upon further inspection, the contact concluded that the fuel pump and regulator were the causes of the failure. The vehicle has not been repaired. The dealer stated that the VIN was not included in NHTSA campaign id number 06E011000 (fuel system, gasoline:delivery:fuel pump); therefore, they would not assume responsibility for any repairs. The failure and current mileages were 102,000.

Grand Cherokee

Was driving on the highway. At about 65mph, the engine started revving from 3500 RPM all the way to 6000 RPM, but the speed didn't increase at all. Took the car to the shop and the mechanic said they ran a full diagnostics check and found nothing wrong with the Cherokee. So I drove the Jeep for another month until it died on one early morning. I went to start the Jeep just like every morning, but this time the engine won't even turn or make a sound. The gauges indicators went beserks and bottomed out at the max. It looks like an electrical problem. I have yet to find out what exactly is wrong with the Jeep when I take it in to the dealer today.
