It seems the entire HVAC system of several Jeep models and years is faulty and prevalent across the Internet. The next thing to happen after the blend door failure is that you could not alternate between air conditioning and heat unless removing the glovebox cover and toggling it from one thing to the other. Next, the heater core failed entirely and saturated the passenger floor. Now, after having the heater core replaced (not cheap!), the blower won't function at all.
