Air bag light stays on for no apparent reason in my 1999 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo (4.0 liter, 6 cyl.) I understand a recall was issued for the exact same problem for the '97-99 Jeep Cherokee which stated: Air bag could deploy unexpectedly and injure driver. Alternatively, air bag warning light could come on for no apparent reason. Models: 391,623 sport-utility vehicles made 7/96-6/99. What to do: Have dealer replace air-bag control module, positioning it on top of transmission tunnel.

1999 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo. The airbag light comes on with left turn of vehicle. The dealer can not easily figure out what causes this. Others have had this same problem with this vehicle. I think a recall should be done to correct this.
