Grand Cherokee 4WD 8-cyl

  • Automatic transmission
  • 80,000 miles
One of the steel brackets connecting the driver's seat in my 2000 Grand Cherokee broke away from the floor, leaving the seat (and me) to sway side to side and back and forth. I weigh 200 lbs. The car has never been in an accident. So, neither an accident or excesssive driver's weight contributed to this problem. I would guess that, if I were in an accident, the seat would probably break free from the floor. This is a highly dangerous problem that could be life threatening and should be investigated.
