This probably won't get my problem repaired but keep reading, I've got a lot to say.
One day my wife and I went to the store. Cold miserable day, came out, the Jeep started and then immediately shut off. Did this for a full 30 minutes. Checked under hood, banged on things, finally starts, drive home with tranny shifting erratically and finally get home safe. Next week every time we come up to red light it shuts off. Restarts no problem. Next week driving down the road and and all the gauges, tach, speedometer, overhead display, ac, radio, windows, locks, all shut down. Jeep still cruising along.
In dealing with this problem I found that if I remove the negative battery cable for 5 seconds and put it back on everything resets and works for about 20 to 30 minutes. Then all goes to _ again. Finally found some other confused Jeep owners online with same series of problems. Everything points to a module on the PCI Which one I ask? No clue is the answer. Start disconnection of them one at a time until problem goes away. Only problem with this is that they are all over the vehicle and not very easily accessible. Finally found that by disconnecting the harness plug from the drivers door the main problem does not reappear. Problem now, no auto door lock or unlock on drivers door, no control of other door locks, any windows or mirrors from drivers door, duh, and only half the heater works. Drivers side warm, passenger,(wife's) side not so much. I would love to be able to repair this myself but pulling all the doors apart and digging for the modules is a real

I went the dealership route, changed computer control module, ignition switch and key ,battery , alternator. They said it was fixed. I picked it up and 8 miles later the gauges were gone again switch bcm and still not working. I can disconnect alternator and gauges come back fine but obviously battery doesn't charge.
I am out of money and garage is out of ideas, unless I give them open check book to continue replacing good parts with new parts. When I read Jeep forums everyone with the 4.0 has this problem without any solutions. I cant believe Chrysler does not recall or offer to fix this. Whats wrong with you people don't care about customer satisfaction? Thanks I will remember that and share with everyone I can

I have a 2000 Jeep Grand Cherokee that has an electrical problem that I can't seem to get resolved. I have had it to my very reputable mechanic 3 times now and it is still not resolved. He has checked and cleaned all of the connections that he knows of that might be related. He has ordered and installed a new ECM that did not resolve the problem. He has checked the wiring to the drivers door master window control module. He has replaced the ignition control module, and every time he thinks it is fixed, it reoccurs after we drive it a day or so, or even a few miles. The symptoms are that all of the warning lights come on and all of the gauges quit functioning. The vehicle will still start and run fine even with all the lights on and gauges not functioning. The windows will not roll up or down when the warning lights are on and the gauges aren't working.
Has anyone else had this problem, and if so, did you get it resolved? How?
Thanks for your time if you have any ideas that might solve the problem.
