The NHTSA is the US gov't agency tasked with vehicle safety. Complaints can be spread across multiple & redundant categories, & are not organized by problem. See the Back button — blue bar at the very top of the page — to explore more.
Engine repeatedly overheats, repairs are very costly for problem not getting fixed.

Same thing happened to me with the air doors broke or stuck ( made of cheap plastic). $900 + to pull whole dash out and fix and replace. I had to pay that for a very known and common problem.

Heat only works on driver side. Cold air from passenger side. My mechanic the A/C blend door is probably stuck. I have been told they would have to pull the dash to fix the problem. A year ago the heater core was replaced requiring the need to pull the dash. The labor for that alone was $900. My mechanic told me that both of these problems have service bulletins issued for the Jeep & the Dodge durango. I believe the manufacturer should be responsible for the repair costs. These are so common, that the parts needed to fix the blend door are not even available. With the below 0 temperatures we are having this winter I can't go very far without freezing!

2001 Jeep Grand Cherokee keeps losing antifreeze with no visible signs of loss. Engine oils appears clean of coolant but have read several online reports where this is a common problem leading to overheating and possible loss of the engine. Something needs to be investigated towards this issue.

The blend doors on my Jeep do not work. This is an extremely wide spread problem for Jeep Grand Cherokee's. both a dealer mechanic, and an independent mechanic have told me the that almost all Grand Cherokee will experience this problem. There should be a recall issued - it is simply a design flaw. Unfortunately, there is no specific complaint choice on this form for heating, so people are classifying this as either visibility issues or engine cooling issues. Hopefully someone at NHTSA will find the common thread of defective blend doors - and no heat.

2001 Jeep Grand Cherokee have spent over $3000 to fix a coolant low light that keeps coming on and low oil pressure. The problem persists despite taking the vehicle to the Jeep dealership and someone else to figure out the source. No leak. Replaced everything from water pump to fan. This absolutely has to be an issue from the manufacturer and I would like to see a recall. There must be something to correct this problem. After searching online for an answer, I found that this is a common problem with the make and model of my Jeep. This has been an ongoing issue for 2 years.
