Re ODI # 10213768 regarding 2001 Jeep Grand Cherokee ltd, blend doors failure on HVAC, occurred three years ago. $1,500 to repair, windows fog causing unsafe conditions. Many vehicles affected, Jeep aware of problem tsb#24-001-04, faulty engineering and parts, will not buy Jeep product again.

I get no heat coming out of the vents, only cold air. It was 10 degrees this morning and I have a 45 minute drive to work with no heat. Could be a safety issue if I didn't park in a garage. There would be no way of clearing the windshield of ice. Went to the dealer and they tell me it could be at a minimum $1,200 to fix it and then they won't guarantee it will be a permanant fix.

A/C, heater does not function properly, sporadic air flow.

Heater on my 2001 Jeep Cherokee has gone out. Apparently it is a common problem and expensive to have repair. The motors that control the doors strip out & will not move. I have heard it is around 1500 dollars to have repaired at the dealership. I feel that there should be a recall to have this issue resolved.

(1) none (2) the heater to my 2001 Grand Cherokee limited no longer functioned, only cold air flowed from the air vents regardless of the temperature selected. (3) I took the vehicle into a Jeep dealership and they told me the blend doors were broken and needed to be replaced to fix the problem. The estimated cost was $1,400 and the extended warranty I bought from Chrysler did not cover the problem. I am still saving up money so that I can have the repair done. This has caused great discomfort to myself and my passengers these past two winters.

2001 Jeep Grand Cherokee limited; the blend air door is broken. Therefore, only cold air blows out of the passenger side of the car, including the defroster. Keeping the car defrosted in certain winter conditions is difficult and dangerous. This is an ongoing problem and based on two Jeep dealers that I have talked to (and various internet sites), this is a common problem and extremely expensive to repair.
