1. Engine over heating problems numerous times and coolant leak. Even after replacement of radiator and hoses. 2. Went to pick up jeep from mechanic due to oil leak, when they brought it around, I noticed pink fluid dripping. Had Transmission serviced in March/April 2020 due to a leak., Flushed system, new filters and fluid. Last few months vehicle says "Transmission over Temp" a few times. Replaced transmission pan, due to a leak, new fluid added, in September 2022. Vehicle indicated "Transmission over Temp" a few weeks later. Didn't drive it a few days, haven't seen the warning sign yet. 3. Numerous oil leaks. Serpitean belt replaced along with other repairs. 4. When I bought vehicle, it had no heat and coolant was leaking in on passenger side floor. 5. Jeep shifts to 3rd gear and won't shift down or back into drive until I turn off vehicle and back on. Very dangerous I was a busy road, US 41 heading north, and had to pull over.

Automatic Transmission contamination caused from rain water or AC condensation dripping directly on to transmission dipstick tube. During times of heavy rainfall, contaminated transmission fluid will overflow and puddle underneath the vehicle. Transmission fluid has been analyzed at Blackstone Laboratories and provided results showing h2o being present in the fluid, with no traces of engine coolant. Transmission shutters and shifts hard, reaches excessive temperatures under moderate loads. Dealership and independent transmission shop both have acknowledged an issue with the transmission and a water contamination.

PCM HAS BEEN REPLACEMENT MULTIPLE TIMES BY DIFFERENT REPAIR SHOP. When computer fails it has failed a circuit with 02 sensors which kills engine power randomly while driving on highways. It has turned ABS light on and Service 4x4 randomly and won-??t let the vehicle travel over 10mph. Very dangerous on roads. I-??ve had three computers installed in the last Year and a half and have given me 3 close calls almost causing accident. That-??s 3 too many. I-??m not the only one with the computer issues ask around to owners with these jeeps. How many close called does someone need for Chrysler to not even repair but Just to look into. Do people need to die in an accident for people to take this seriously. The issue is NOT from lack of maintenance either. If my ABS module was failed I would no. My vehicle has a 115,000miles on it and when this dangerous intermittent issues occur there are no DTC codes stored. This is a total epic failure done by Chrysler. If they don-??t find something soon about theses vehicles. I will be sure never to by another Jeep product. I took Jeep in for recall N23 and they flashed it. After I picked it up the service 4WD drive code keeps popping up. 4X4 does not kick in. Unless I remove the fed myself fuse and put back in then it will work. But after a while 4WD service turns on again.

My 2005 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo (3.7 liter V6) has about 78,500 miles. In 2018 my Jeep had an engine service soon light incident. I had the obdii read by O'reilly auto parts for the failure codes. The codes downloaded were U0404 & P0700. I went to my mechanic and he stated, 'drive it for a while and it should go away', he was right - the failure code (dash light) went away. Now, Feb. 7, 2020 my engine service light went on. Again I went to O'reilly auto part to have the obdii error codes read. Again, the error codes came up U0404 & P0700. I did some research (on the web) and found a youtube video that addressed these two exact failure codes. Please see the youtube video, web address, below that explains the failure and repair. The shifting console printed circuit board (pcb) has allowed (over time) the transfer of material between the different drive selection points (drive, reverse, park) on the pcb to be short circuited (bridged) causing a false signal to the other control devices. This is not listed as a serviceable item by Jeep. As a result Jeep is responsible for this failure because they do not state that this is a service preventable failure. The contact owns a 2005 Jeep Grand Cherokee. While driving 40 mph and exiting a freeway, the contact depressed the accelerator pedal; however, the vehicle failed to exceed 15 mph. The contact veered to the shoulder of the road and managed to drive at low speeds to an independent mechanic. The mechanic diagnosed the vehicle, but was unable to duplicate the failure. The failure recurred intermittently. The vehicle was taken to jim koestner Inc (218 N main St, plainwell, mi 49080, (269) 685-6854) to be diagnosed again, but the failure could not be duplicated. The contact referenced NHTSA campaign number: 13V175000 (power train, electrical system). The manufacturer was not made aware of the failures. The failure mileage was approximately 131,000.

ECM was not functioning properly. Connections were failing. Due to this engine power was lost while running. At times would just shut off. Vehicle was stationary at time of wiggling PCM but don't want to find out if this would happen if I hit a rough spot on the highway going 75. Problem is manufacturer is not producing these computers anymore and can't find one anywhere, also can't be repaired.

First off the transmission wasn't shifting right. I was like it was getting stuck in 2nd gear or something. The rpms were raising high before it was shifting. Then my check engine came on, took it in to get a the code read code was P0700 and P0562 and P0750 so we changed the battery, the throttle body and had the transmission fluid and filters changed. Still same problem. Check engine light is still on with the same code. Took it to a transmission shop they said it is the solenoid pack. Now I have read a lot of the Jeep Chrysler forums and a whole lot of these Jeep have had the same issue with the transmission. So I want to know how you can sell such an expensive vehicle with so many transmission issues. And why there has not been a recall on these transmissions. This is a big safety issue!! I think you need to fix or replace the transmissions in these Jeep!! a recall should be done asap on these transmissions!!! I am extremely disappointed in Chrysler, Dodge and Jeep. I have not seen a recall as of yet on these transmissions. Yet there are so many people who have the same issues with these transmissions. I called Chrysler and they said there were no recalls yet on this transmission. I expect a call or email about this concern asap. Takata recall. My Jeep randomly and frequently loses connection with the electronic shift module, when this happens it gets stuck in random gears and it will not move fast (safely) when I accelerate unless the car is restarted but then it'll happen again almost immediately after. This happens almost every time I stop, and sometimes happens while driving. This is a well known issue with the 05-10 model years that Jeep has swept under the rug and ignored for years. It has caused damage to my cars transmission and has made me feel unsafe driving my vehicle.

While driving the vehicle I receive a message on the info center displaying "transmission over temp" the fan kicks on high and the vehicle will not go faster than 25mph. I have to pull over, turn the vehicle off, wait 30 seconds, turn it back on and it goes away. Had my vehicle at the transmission shop and had it thoroughly looked through and the PCM is to blame. It is very common on these vehicles. I feel it is a saftey concern due to the "transmission over temp" displaying every couple of miles as I drive. Calling Chrysler directly to ask of the problem and they were very rude and hung up on me. Not happy!!

The Jeep will randomly not want to begin driving after putting into drive from a stationary position and then you will hear and feel a loud "thump" and the transmission gets stuck in 3rd gear. Most of the time I can turn the car off and back on to fix it but sometimes it doesnt work that easily. This happens at least 2-3 times per week.
