1. Fuel tank started leaking on the top. 2. Middle backseat belt was stuck. It would not pull out. No matter what we tried it just got tighter and tighter, had to cut it. 3. Can't use seat warmer on passenger side because it will burn the person sitting there because the seat tore.

The manufacturer was not contacted. The vehicle was not taken to the dealer for diagnostic testing. The failure mileage was 54,000. The VIN was unknown.

Safest seat is now the most unsafe position in the car. When trying to start the ignition, the key has to be turned several times and can take up to five minutes until the car ignition will turn on to start car.

The center back seat seatbelt will not come loose. It is tightened and will not retract. I have to put my six year old on the left passenger side because I cannot seat her in the middle. It's concerning in the event of an accident, my child is susceptible to more injuries since I cannot properly seat her in the middle seat in the back. Also, when it rains, the car leaks into the inside. This has been going on for quite sometime. I don't understand it. I spoke with my cousin who also owns a brand new Jeep and even hers does this as well.

(car was stationary) I did not know there was a problem with seat belt until I tried put my grand child in middle back seat and noticed the seat belt was stuck and was not usable. After doing some research, and reading other complaints on same issue, it turns out their is a problem with the seat belt retractor. This is definitely a safety issue as well as a law that all must wear them. When we took the car to dealer the to fix 2 other recall issues they said it would cost at least $500 to fix the seat belt issue and that it might happen again! I strongly feel something should be done about this problem and that it's the company's responsibility to fix this safety issue!

The middle rear seat belt is locked in place to the point it is digging into my seat. I now can not use the seat belt and causes a safety concern for my children and or passengers if they are not wearing a seat belt. Also, the rear headrest removes but the poles that holds them in still stick out of the seat. The headrest must be removed to properly install my daughters booster seat. The booster seat does not sit flush against the seat unless the head rest cushion is removed but it does not look safe especially in the event of a car accident having the head rest support poles sticking out of the seat. So all in all the rear seat renders me useless with only two seat belts and one of the two working ones not properly installing a car seat becaise of the headrest.

The middle back seat belt strap located in the rear seat is locked tightly in place & cannot be loosen to use properly for anyone seating in the middle rear seat. There is no code to deactivate this problem for I have researched online & called the Jeep dealership to resolve this issue without the costly expense. To easily resolve this issue, is to just cut the seat belt strap or take out the entire rear seat which is a big time-consuming mess to take out & put back in place just to loosen the strap as I read online. To have the dealership do the work would be putting out more $$$$ for the same thing as doing it yourself. This is a big problem for the middle rear seat belt in the Grand Cherokee as I have read online & nothing is being done to correct this. No one can sit in the middle without a seat belt by law. I have 4 grandkids that I take to swim lessons or visits at the same time & if I knot in another seat belt straps to the Jeep seat belts that is still taking a risky chance of endangering their lives by doing this or getting a ticket for improper seat belt usage.

The middle seat belt locks up and renders it useless. It locks so tight that it is impossible to loosen and becomes a safely risk if god forbid someone would be stuck in it during an accident. It has started to dig into my seat so bad that I have no choose but to cut it and remove and replace it. This is a manufacturer defect and should be a safety recall and placed on this asap.

Rear middle seat belt is stuck in retracted position. It is so tight that it is digging into the top of seat. Apparently this is a common problem that happens after pulling the back seat down for cargo. This seems to be a safety issue, what if it locked like this when a person is using it and couldn't get out in an emergency. I feel that this should be recalled and fixed by Jeep.

I put the rear seat down to move stuff, went to put seat back into regular up right position and the middle seat belt is locked and wont release. : the contact stated while driving 35 mph through an intersection on normal road conditions, the engine stalled and could not be restarted. There were no warning lights prior to the incident. The vehicle was towed to the dealership, who diagnosed a fuel pump and fuel injection pump failure, both were replaced. After this incident, the vehicle presented transmission problems. The contact noticed a loss of power while driving 65 mph on a highway. Intermittently, the transmission made noise when shifted to second gear. The vehicle had been taken to the dealership 20 times, however no error codes identified the defect. In one of the incidents, the yellow malfunction light illuminated and the dealership identified the defect as the computer control module and the driver shaft, both were replaced, however the transmission problem persisted. The dealership determined the vehicle could not be repaired. The manufacturer was contacted who recommended to take the vehicle to a different dealership. The vehicle was not downshifting when going up hills and it would get stuck in second or third gear. The A/C and blower motor were inoperative, the dealer could not duplicate the consumers concern. The key became stuck in the ignition. All the dashboard lights were flashing, the cd player was broke. The brakes and rotors vibrated. The starter was replaced.
