The contact owns a 2005 Jeep Grand Cherokee. While driving 15-55 mph, the vehicle shook when the gears shifted. In addition, the vehicle hesitated when attempting to accelerate. The dealer stated that the torque converter inside the transmission caused the failure and they found water inside the transmission. They repaired the vehicle as part of the recall for the power train: Automatic transmission (NHTSA campaign id 05V396000). Approximately seven months later the failure occurred again. In addition, the vehicle would lurch forward when the vehicle was stopped. The dealer stated that the automatic transmission caused the failure. The dealer made the repair. The contact stated that the failure occurred on four more occasions. The dealer stated that the automatic transmission caused each failure. The failure mileage was 12,690 and current mileage 60,000.
