Grand Cherokee LE

  • Automatic transmission
  • 138,000 miles

Couple years ago, I was driving my jeep Cherokee when my light began to flicker, it happened several other times after that, I call the dealer-ship,

I was told that it might cost me between $300 to $400 to fix the problem, at the time I did not have the money to fix the car, someone told me to go to auto zone for a free diagnosis, but to my surprise It was the battery for my KEY REMOTE CONTROL for my car, I change it and it worked for two years, I thought that was the problem fixer, but the problem came back 2years later, i changed the battery again but It is not working, I changed my job to night shift and every 3 to 4 nights on my way home, the interior lights start to flicker then the headlights go off, my temporary fix is to turn off the light and put it back on, I also use the hi-beam. I am not a Mechanic or a specialist but the nights when the lights flicker I think has to do with the way I start my jeep , because sometimes the ignition makes a funny click and the light flickers, that is when the light goes off. I would like to fix the problem but if the problem affects other jeep owners I think it should have a RECALL on the problem!!!

Grand Cherokee

  • Automatic transmission
  • 150,000 miles

This problem started in my overhead lighting through the dimmer switch in 2012. Only in June of 2013 did it move to the dash, taillights, head lights, & fox lights. My local D'Ambrosio Jeep dealership said they had no idea what was causing the problem. It has become dangerous when driving at night.

Please, any ideas?
