In Feb. while I was driving 65 on the hwy. all my electrical power went off. All interior lights, headlights, rpm, mph. etc. very scary. Happened twice. Took it to my local mechanic and they couldn't find anything wrong. Hooked it up to the computer and it spit out 1000's of codes. They said I would have to take it to a Jeep garage and have them look at it. I had asked them about it and they said it would cost $180 just to hook it up to there computer to be scanned. Decided not to as that is a lot of money. Hasn't done it since but have other issues with the electrical such as service tire pressure system and now the airbag light is on. Any suggestions?

My family and I do not go any where at night due to the headlights turning off. We were traveling home with cars coming at us on a two lane road and the interior lights flickered then the headlights went out. It is a very scaring feeling to have this happen. Sometimes the headlights will go on and off several times and then completely out.

1)We were driving down the road in a construction zone and all lights went out. Jeep didn't cut out or miss. Just pitch black with oncoming cars and no where to go do to construction.
2)The lights had gone out a few minutes prior to this and as wife was telling me, they came back on. Thought maybe she hadn't turned the switch all the way on? Then it happened again.
3)Stopped by store on the way home and they went out again.
We bought the Jeep used with 55k. Has been perfect for two years until this.
Have been concerned about driving at night since. Take flashlights and told wife to use hazard lights for visibility to get off road or out of danger of collision.

Jeep Chrysler should be forced out of business for how they have handled this issue that obviously could cause death. A vehicle on a HWY doing 70MPH with headlights turning off is an issue. I was first told the wiring harness had been compromised from a battery acid leak. Convenient for Jeep as they could simply charge me $1200 plus and say "that should do it". (don't know why you design a main cable to be run underneath a battery but I'm not a genius Jeep engineer)... Nope, didn't "do it". Module replacements? Ok, "now you should be ok". Nope. Still have problem.
I won't let my daughter drive the vehicle because God forbid something happened while she was at the wheel. I would own Chrysler. Time to step up Jeep and admit you screwed up. Fix the problem you know is there. Maybe you know the actual significance and the costs it would require taking the annual 7 figure bonuses away...if this remains my problem, it's the last Jeep product I ever own and rest assured, I will enjoy telling the world how Jeep takes care of it's customers.
