On this vehicle both front eat seatbelt receivers are faulty. This was not caused by an accident or excessive wear of the seatbelts. When you push the seatbelt into the receiver, it will not accept the seatbelt without first pushing down on the seatbelt button. Additionally, the vehicle does not recognize when the seatbelts are in use and the light on the dash stays on regardless. This issue started some time ago, however, more recently (past 3 weeks) the airbag light started coming on intermittently. I took the vehicle to a shop (not a dealer) and they diagnosed the airbag light as being caused by the driver's side seatbelt retractor spring malfunction. They were unable to repair and directed me to a dealer. Upon contacting the dealer they are only offering replacement of the seatbelts faulty seatbelts as customers expense. I have contacted Dodge customer service and asked what assistance they my provide. That issues is currently open under case number 89679478.

Car is currently parked: I own a 2006 Jeep Grand Cherokee Larado which Jeep claims has no recalls yet there (3) all of which are happening to my vehicle. NHTSA 07V434000, 13V175000 and 14V438000. My car is very well maintained I have reached out to Jeep and claim my truck was not recalled yet my TRUCK is listed as having (6) recalls all of which are issues the truck is currently having. I have computer codes to prove it. I understand my truck have 150,000 miles and is 16 almost 17 years old however it was bought as an investment that Jeep seems to selectively correct issues only when they are threatened to be sued. This is totally ridiculous. There are multiple complaints from other owners. These things should have been recalled years ago. My vehicle has never been modified and we should not have to be responsible for recalls that are selectively being fixed when there are over 6000 complaints. Thank you

I own a used 2006 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo 4X4. The driver's and passenger's side seat belts are not latching unless I press down on the red button. The red seat belt indicator light won't go off and the audible chimes continuously and will not shut off while driving. The vehicle manual does describe a method in which you can disable the seatbelt indicator chime. However, to be able to do this you must be able to have the seatbelt in the buckled position, which the vehicle is not able to detect as the seatbelts are faulty. The only way to stop the chime is to snip the seat belt sensor and ground wires coming from the vehicles computer underneath the driver and passenger seats and splice them together. This will ground out the sensor but it also causes the airbag warning light to come on. So, you have to choose between either having airbags and a nonstop seatbelt indicator chime, or no chime and no airbags. This is troublesome.

I got in a head on collision on July 11 in the city of paramount. I was at a red light making a left as soon as it turn green I went into motion lost control making a wide left turn and went into the side walk. I hit a cement trash can and a cement wall as well none of my air bags came out. Both insurance and the body shop where the Jeep is now stated that it was odd the air bags didn't come out. They stated that the hit was big and the bags should have came out. I hit front on my whole front end was damaged bumper, lights, grill.I hit my face in the steering wheel causing my lip to bust open and I hit my head as well in the top left side handle. My insurance noted that the vehicle is a total loss due to frame damage.I didn't go to the hospital because of the max capacity so I've been taking over the counter pills for my back, head and shoulder pain I also been seen a naturalist for my muscle spasms.

During rain storms both driver and passenger sides are flooded with water. This has ruined carpet in vehicle and will probably rust the bottom of the car. - vehicle stationery in driveway of home. The safety belts both driver and passenger sides are not working - do not secure unless you push down hard to engage the belt into lock mode. I do not feel safe when I have to manually engage the belt hook into the lock. I had an accident and crashed into a fence, the airbag did not deploy. Vehicle in motion at time. When I start the engine, vehicle still in park mode, it accelerates in high mode without stepping on gas pedal. On a city street.

Less then 30 days ago I purchased a used 2006 Jeep Cherokee Laredo 4X2. The dealer said the airbag sensor just needed replaced no big deal. Now I am experiencing the same thing as alot of older people. The driver's side seat belt started not latching unless I press down on the red button. So then the red seat belt indicator light won't go off and the audible chimes continuously and will not shut off while driving no matter what I do. Moving the seat belt around to try and get the chime to stop as well as the audible chiming while driving makes it very annoying and distracting from the road. I need answers on why this should be at my cost when between the airbag and seat belt sensors are truly safety issue. Their is no warranty at 154457 miles. Please advise on the airbag recall etc... the airbag light was on when purchased 7/18/17. The seat belt chiming and light started staying on 8/10/17.

Takata inflator. I purchased my Jeep and after a few months I notice it kept getting stuck in 3rd. Wouldn't come out. Then the message "transmission over temp" would pop up. It would randomly just loose all power and cut off as I would be driving. I had it looked at. Checked the codes bc check engine light would pop up also. Multiple codes were in the history pertaining to the issue. I was going to get everything fixed until I was told to contact Jeep first bc there might be some recalls that others were experiencing my same problem. I would of paid for it regardless to fix the problems. It had numerous recalls. Made an appointment to mckinney Dodge in easley, SC. After fixing the recalls I have paperwork for a few months later was doing it again. I work in a service dept. So I asked one my techs if it was same problem as the recalls and did I need to call dealership back. They said yes. Called mckinney and they refused to set me an appointment and said the problems had nothing to do with the recalls they fixed. After having several tows and stranded and almost wrecking with my children in the car going down the highway and just dies, I'm beyond frustrated and no one can seem tell me how to fix. After reading several reviews and recall information, my issues are everything with my recalls. My airbag light go on and off also. They never touched that and it's also a recall. I need to know what I need to do bc I'm not waiting for an accident or death bc this vehicle. It's my only car and I've tried to pay myself and had recalls fixed and problem is still there. I've contacted a lawyer. I want it fixed or I want another vehicle.

Takata recall: I was in an accident with my 2006 Grand Cherokee. The accident was due to the ignition switch and the vehicle powering down while in drive, or in use. Injuries were suffered due to the airbag's none deployment. After taking the vehicle to the dealer and attempting to have two recalls replaced, I was told there presently was no available fix, or replacement for recall P41. The vehicle was serviced in 2015 at fitzpatrick's Chrysler Jeep (430 E main street, ansonia, ct 06401 (203) 734-3318) for recalls P41(ignition switch) & N23(powertrain transfer case electrical system). In January of 2012 with 37K on the vehicle there was the first of two accidents that relate to recall P41. This accident was due to unresponsive braking and steering, which was caused by the ignition switch moving from the on position to the off position while the vehicle was in drive, or in use. This accident happened when attempting to stop the vehicle (rte. 80 East haven, ct) I noticed the vehicle was unresponsive. I used both feet and hands to apply the breaks, while simultaneously wrapping both hands around the lower half of the steering wheel and pulling upward with my biceps to apply additional downward momentum to the break pedal, but still I could not stop the vehicle. Injuries were sustained and out pocket costs for this accident total over $7000 dollars. The second accident happened in 2016. Not realizing the vehicle was off while attempting to bring the vehicle to a full stop on the highway (rte.15 no haven, ct.), I had a collision. The force of the impact slammed my face into the steering wheel. I was dazed and confused, wondering, why hadn't the airbags deployed. This is the second incident I've had with this vehicle that was directly related to the ignition switch. And, in both accidents airbags were never deployed. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.
