I received a recall notice from Jeep Chrysler in July of 2014 stating a defect within the ignition switch but Jeep didn't have the part available to fix the problem. It has now been 8 months and Jeep still does not have the part to repair the defect. This could cause an accident and I keep contacting Jeep and they keep saying....we don't have the part, we'll let you know when we do. That is unacceptable as the issue could cause an accident and it has been 8 months and they still don't know when the part will be available. I believe Chrysler is acting criminally and I would like them to either fix my vehicle so it is safe to drive or reimburse me for the car so I can purchase a vehicle that is safe.

While driving all electrical power to the vehicle shut down. The engine was still running. This happened during a turn, while the roads were a little icy. This locked the wheels. The power came back on shortly, but had it not the vehicle (with locked wheels) would have slid off the road and into the ditch. We have also been waiting for the ignition switch recall part to be in for over 4 months! this is ridiculous! this is going to cause an injury or a death. I have 2 small children and you can bet if it happens with my children in the vehicle and they get hurt I will sue chyrsler. To have a recall due to something dangerous and then not have enough parts to replace is unacceptable!!

Started vehicle and backed out of garage. Drove down street approximately 100 yards when all lights (dome lights, instrument lights, headlights) flickered momentarily. This happened twice more in the course of 400-500 feet. Steering and control of vehicle seemed unchanged as I turned around and drove back home. The only warning lights that remained on were the esp bas and the electronic stability program (esp)/traction control system (tcs) indicator light. Service shop could not reproduce the fault, thought the problem was related to the ignition, and recommended taking the vehicle to the dealership. Dealership also could not reproduce the fault.
