In August 2014, I had my brake booster replaced per the recall #P14 as required. I recently had new brakes put on and then suddenly my brake booster fails. I cannot come to any sudden stops as my car just rolls. Twice I almost hit cars that cut me off. I had to turn my car to stop the car from rolling into the car in front of me.

After my mechanic, who I trust with everything, checked my car, he said the brake booster failed. I told him that it was recalled and I had it replaced. He was aware of the recall. He told me not to drive it with our 6 year old twins in the car because it is a major safety issue. I agree!

I called the dealership where I bought the car and had the recall completed, and they (Fullerton Chrysler Jeep Somerville, NJ) told me it was a "one shot deal." If the recalled part fails, I would have to pay for it in full because it is not warranted. How is that even possible????

They also told me that they do not have any availability until a week or so. I told them that driving it was a safety issue and they told me to rent a car. They certainly lost my future business. Obviously, they said they won't know what is wrong with it until they look at it, but I trust my personal mechanic, not a dealership. Stay tuned as this saga will surely unfold quickly...or not so quickly according to Fullerton.

Ever since I bought my new used 2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee from the Jeep Dealership (in Prince George, VA) in May 2014, I've had nothing but problems with it. There have been numerous recalls on it. Which takes a lot of time to have them "fix" the problem. The biggest problem I have had is with the brake booster. Recall # P14/NHTSA 14V - 154.

The recall claims the brake booster may ingest water in wet weather conditions. They "fixed" the problem by placing a shield over the brake booster.

My "BRAKE" light had flickered on and off since they "fixed" the recall (a year ago). I figured it was an electrical problem. Recently replaced brake pads on my vehicle, and noticed shortly afterwards that my brakes weren't stopping completely (felt spongy - couldn't slam on the brakes if I wanted to). Took it back to the repair shop and they bled the brakes, then retested the brakes. Still had the same problem. They ran their computer on my vehicle and it showed there was a problem with the brake booster. Its supposed to be at 1.96 PSI, and was at 1.3 PSI.

We are military and are currently in transition from VA to TX. Called the dealership I bough the vehicle from and they couldn't see me for a week. Had to drive my vehicle to LA. Called the Recall Center and they basically told me since they "fixed" the recall problem, I am going to have to pay for it out of pocket (roughly $700).

I don't understand how I have to pay for a problem that wouldn't have existed if the vehicle was built properly!! They claim they fixed the problem, but obviously not properly. I do not like the way they handled this problem, and nor do I feel safe to drive this horrible vehicle with my family. NOTHING BUT PROBLEMS SINCE I HAVE PURCHASED THIS VEHICLE. Will NEVER buy a CHRYSLER/JEEP/DODGE vehicle again!!

This was a recall to prevent the brake booster from taking in water but our brake booster was completely shot. They replaced the entire thing under the recall. My dealership (Atlantic Jeep) provides great service but it still took over two weeks to get an appointment.

While driving back home on the hwy from cottage country, the brakes stopped working - while driving at 110km/hour! Fortunately for me, my husband was driving and he switched immediately from automatic transmission into manual drive. He reduced speed to almost 0, and we continued on the side of the road until we could exit safely. I would definitely have crashed or worse. The incident of the Toyota owners who plunged to their death because car did not stop came to mind.

I called Jeep Canada to report the incident after it was repaired- but never received any feedback from them. The dealership I brought it to for repair/investigation said it was the most dangerous set of circumstances he had ever encountered. He told me he wrote a report to Jeep as well. He indicated that in a new vehicle, this should never have failed - called my car a lemon! :(

Luckily - one, we are not dead; second, the very, very expensive repair was completely covered under my Powertrain warranty.

BRAKE FAILURE IS NOT GOOD!!! It could cost someone their life or permanent injury. They just give out , just like that ......................no warning!!!!! And I didn't receive a recall to date for this problem. My car will be out of commission for days or more. JEEP should definitely reimburse for rental vehicles or at least in part. Most people need a car for the time their car is down waiting for a part..............how do you manage when you have to get to work>|?????

Disgusted and I always had high regard for Jeep, not anymore!

My brake light came on on the dash one day while driving and when I went to stop I noticed my foot went the whole way to the floor. I significantly less stopping power than normal. After I stopped the car for awhile and tried again the problem was not there. Two days later the dash light came on again during a 2 hr drive home from work. Same issue as first time. Every time I used the brakes my foot would go to the floor and braking power was about half or less than normal.

My jeep is in the shop now but the dealer said a brake booster is necessary and covered under a recall but they were told to stop ordering replacement boosters a month ago. I had my jeep in several times over the last six months for an air suspension issue and the dealer had my vehicle on the list to replace the brake booster but Chrysler never shipped it. WTF Chrysler!!! I have children that drive with me in a vehicle that could lose brakes at any time!!! Not cool!!!

On January 31, 2014 I purchased a 4x4 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo. Great vehicle until I thought I was going to die on Sunday, August 24, 2014.

I was on my way to the grocery store. I headed for the intersection and tapped my brakes to stop and there was nothing! I eventually slowed down after going right through the intersection, a semi was traveling in the opposite direction and just barely missed hitting me. I called the dealership, the vehicle was taken there on Monday, August 25th. They indicated there was a recall on the brake booster and it was unsafe to drive. As of today almost 8 weeks have gone by and I am told weekly by the dealership no ETA. I am furious that I spent thousands of dollars for a vehicle I have only been able to drive for 7 months, then it almost kills me. I still am awaiting for the recall notice as of today, nothing and they know nothing either.

I have always purchased Chrysler products but will not in the future. I am very disappointed in Chrysler that they continue to build new vehicles everyday but they already have my money so they just don't care about protecting people and lives of others. I hope all of these vehicle are repaired before it rusts on the dealerships lot but most of all I pray no one looses their life or loved ones.

After trying for several months at different dealerships to get the brake booster replaced due to the recall notice, the brake booster failed on my Jeep. I barely avoided an accident. The recall notice is very weak in regards to how dangerous it becomes when the booster fails. Actually is an absolute joke and taking the matter very light.

I brought my vehicle to a dealership on August 20th, 2014 and as of today the booster has not been fixed. I got a rental car from Chrysler but this car does not allow me to tow anything so I have to spend extra money frequently when I have to tow stuff.

I have contacted the dealer and Chrysler several times and there response is horrible. As of today nobody can tell me when the car will be fixed. I have owned only Ford vehicles before and this was my first Chrysler product. It most likely will be my last one since Chrysler and their dealers customer service is horrible.

I am convinced that Chrysler ships new vehicles on a daily basis with the exact same brake boosters installed as needed for the re-call. Instead of installing brake boosters in new cars Chrysler should use every brake booster they can get their hands on and take care of the cars on the road before something really bad happens.

I am so disappointed in Chrysler. I have never owned a car and felt this unsafe! I have a 7 year old son and all of sudden I realize that my Jeep does not want to stop and I almost get into an accident, not once but twice!!! I could of hurt not only myself but someone else for that matter and at first I was told Oh, I don't know if your issue is covered or if there is a recall on it. I told the rep I know there is and you need to get it fixed right away. They tried to argue with me about it which I think is bull-crap.

My Jeep is 2011 with 76,000 miles at the time. I should not be having this or had that issue. My life, my sons, and other drivers were at risk because of this matter and they did not even give me a demo to drive for the day. I am a single mother who works and needs to work Monday-Friday to provide for my family. The reason I purchased a $38,000.00 dollar car is to feel safe and secure and I don't with this car!!!

I received the brake booster recall notice a couple of months ago. I took my Jeep to the dealership for an oil change and mentioned the recall so it could be inspected. Upon leaving I was told they had to order parts which were on back order and would be a couple of months. I was under the impression that my vehicle was still safe to drive, but Wednesday July 2nd the booster failed during rush hour at highway speeds. I was very lucky not to hit/injure/kill anyone as traffic slowed and I couldn't. I managed to get to the shoulder and coast to a stop, but what if I couldn't? Of all things to fail on a vehicle the brakes shouldn't be one. If my vehicle wasn't safe to drive then I never should of been sent out of the dealer with it. I am now stuck in a rental while I wait for my vehicle to be repaired with no ETA. Contacted Jeep customer service, but have not received a response. Not sure where to go from here.

I was driving through Louisville, KY on February 10, 2014. I had to take a Detour. I exited onto the off ramp of Storey Ave. I attempted to apply the brakes and they did not function. There was a Yield sign at the end of the off ramp, I could not stop my vehicle. I was forced to merge onto oncoming traffic. At that point, I nearly got into an accident. I turned right, off the off ramp. I attempted to apply the brakes again due to a red stop light on Spring St. I was unable to stop. I had to proceed through the intersection, nearly getting into another accident. I took the turn going between 30-35 miles an hour. I pumped the brakes and nothing was happening. I nearly rear ended a vehicle that was in the same lane. I swerved in and out of traffic. I attempted to apply the emergency brake and again, nothing. I coasted until I was forced threw my car into park at a vacant gas station in the worst part of Louisville. The area was so dangerous, I had to call for a police officer to come sit with me since people were walking up and lurking in my vehicle. I also had two dogs with me, one had a seizure because of the stress.

I contacted Chrysler's Off-Road assistance. I was informed that it would take 4 hours for a tow truck to come get me. I had to call a different towing company. After a total of 2 1/2 hrs. later, my vehicle was towed to a dealership. My family was inconvenienced since they had to drive a total of 4 hrs. to come pick me up. I have been without transportation for 3 weeks. I have called the dealership my vehicle was taken to numerous times asking when my vehicle would be ready. On February 19, 2014, I was told the brake booster is on back order and there is no ETA. I got the part number and called my local Jeep Dealership. I spoke with a man who told me that there are at least 650 orders placed for this same part and Chrysler is not manufacturing it. It is a restricted part and this is an issue. That means I will be without a vehicle for the unforeseeable future.

I purchased this vehicle in December of 2013 and 30 days after driving it I am left stranded and inconvenienced. I have paid with pain, suffering and time. I have done research and found that not only me, but a lot of other people are in the same situation and Chrysler is not helping nor offering any assistance. Jeep Forum, NHTSA, and the Attorney General has been notified. After speaking with Chrysler on March 3, 2014, they told me the part is no longer being manufactured and an old part will replace the current brake booster. They will not take the car back nor will they reimburse me for the vehicle. They know the part is faulty and they know I am placed in a dangerous situation if I drive this vehicle again. They do not care about their consumers. I plan on filing a lawsuit.
