Under 38,000 miles. 99.9% paved road miles. 1/2 highway, 1/2 city. Water pump leaking, and told it needs to be replaced. Seattle area dealership repair estimate: 2.5 hours labor and part $755.65 I'm the original owner and can't believe for any reason that the water pump should be leaking. Had my car in for one of the many recalls and an oil change when noticed. This is something I would expect from a car with many miles, I'm one to keep a vehicle for ten years or more. Faulty part?

The water pump was not available so it took over a month to have it repaired. The dealer provided a rental car but I was out of vehicle for over 30 days.

I was told that the A/C-Heater System which was replaced last year, may have stressed the Water Pump, or vice versa. Replaced it, because I was leaking abnormal amounts of coolant--leaking all over the engine compartment and parts inside. 6 months later it failed. But it was replaced under warranty.
