The vehicle was taken to a dealer where the battery was replaced on two occasions but the failure persisted. The vehicle was taken back to the dealer where it was diagnosed that the fuel pump relay needed to be replaced. The contact stated that the part was not available for NHTSA campaign number: 14V530000 (electrical system). The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The VIN was unavailable. The failure was 72,000.

The contact owns a 2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee. The contact stated that at engine start-up. The check engine warning light illuminated, causing the vehicle to hesitate to start. The failure was experienced numerous times. The vehicle was taken to the dealer numerous for the failure and a diagnostic was performed that was unable to locate a failure. The dealer replaced the starter cylinder however, the failure was not corrected. The check engine warning light continued to illuminate and flash sporadically. The failure mileage was 16,000 and the current mileage was 25,000. Updated 12/06/12 the dealer replaced the cam sensor, fuel pump, cylinder head and ignition switch. The replacement of the fuel pump, did not resolve the issue. Updated 12/06/12
