problem #2

Oct 102017

Grand Cherokee Limited 5.7L Hemi

  • Automatic transmission
  • 113,000 miles

This has been a RECURRING problem. Have had to replace the Running/Daytime lights on one side or the other 4 times. And, replaced the main headlights twice. This has been done over a period of 2 years. Replaced one daytime/running light last week, AGAIN.

Update from Aug 6, 2019: Engine started overheating. Pulled over to find the Alternator smoking badly, I assumed it was on fire because it smelled that way and it was burning hot. Shut the Jeep down and soaked the alternator with water. No warning whatsoever.

Grand Cherokee Laredo X 5.7L V8

  • Automatic transmission
  • 38,000 miles

2011 Grand Cherokee with many issues. All electrical items have this constant noticeable flicker to them when the vehicle is running. The headlights are the most notable but we see it when interior lights are on as well. Have a video of it here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oQiNLU5ruPU

When the vehicle is not running the lights are normal, only flickering when running. Nothing else on in vehicle, no radio, no climate control, just constant light flicker. RPM's don't seem to matter either, we see the flicker at idle, while driving down highway. We noticed the light issue here after the TIPM related starting problems began happening. The fuel relay recall was applied to this vehicle but odd light flicker remains.
