This problem may be covered under warranty. Ask your Jeep dealer.
I purchased the 2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo in November of 2011. From the moment I drove the car off the lot, the suspension was creaking when the wheels were turned all the way in either direction or when going over any large bumps (speed bump).
I took the car back to the dealership on multiple occasions for this problem, and was told that nothing was wrong with the suspension. They blamed the creaking noises on the fact that I live at the beach and the suspension could be getting rusty. I just took the car in for a tire rotation, and it was pointed out to me that my two front struts and one rear shock are leaking fluid. OF COURSE this happens as soon as the car is outside the warranty window, and I've been quoted almost $1,300 to repair the problem.
So far, no word from Jeep yet as to whether this will be covered under the warranty, but the dealership doesn't think my chances are good. I'm regretting I didn't buy the Toyota 4 Runner......

I have had several problems now with shocks leaking on 2011 grand Cherokee, 39000 miles on vehicle and replaced already twice and now need to be done again. Warranty covered the 1st 2 but this one is all mine. Chrysler will not reimburse as warranty is now out even though I asked to be checked before expiration. Not fixed as yet and am ready to trade in.

Brought vehicle in again as it was bouncing all over the road. Dealership did not find issue. Nothing done with shocks.

The car was very squirrelly driving when you would hit a pothole or some crappy piece of road.
The rear end felt like it was hopping around and I would hang tight to the stirring wheel.
Finally found out the shocks are leaking so no wonder the car felt squirrelly.
Of course the dealer said the shocks are not covered under warranty so we tried to find after market shocks.
Shocks prices at the Jeep dealer are ridiculously expensive but there are no after market shocks being made.
The car only has 41195 miles and the rear shocks are leaking too...... Yikes!!!

THIS IS THE MOST ANNOYING SHOCK EVER. ORDERED 2 SHOCKS FROM CHRYSLER, THEY LEAKED IN JUST 48 HOURS. GOT REPLACEMENT SHOCKS THAT TOOK ME UP TO 3 WEEKS BECAUSE I HAD TO SHIP IT TO NIGERIA. AFTER FIXING THE REPLACEMENT SHOCKS, THEY ALSO LEAKED IN 6 DAYS. NOW I AM IN DILEMMA AS THE CAR IS NOT DRIVABLE DUE TO THE NOISE FROM THE REAR SHOCKS. WISH I COULD TRADE THE CAR IN FOR BETTER SHOCKS.
VERY SHAMEFUL SHOCKS

Anyone else have an issue with shocks leaking? I thought it strange that being only a couple years old this would be a problem. Anyone know of an TBS ?

Shocks are leaking in the rear. Only solution is to pay $1200 for a new set with a warranty only good for three more years. Aftermarket shocks are not made so we are stuck getting screwed by Jeep and the overpriced dealer service department.
