Front Binding/Creaking Noise (Both Sides)...

After several dealer attempts to find and fix this noise issue spanning back to spring of 2014 we have an update. Noise found to be coming from connectivity of Lower Crossmember Bolts to frame. Noise the result of extensive corrosion on both sides with this connectivity. As the corrosion increased the so did the noise, colder temperatures make it even more prevalent.

No permanent fix for this however dealer was able to pull the bolts, clean/lube to help with noise. Still hear an occasional creak but it is definitely better.

Certainly concerned here as there is no explanation for this. Our Grand Cherokee WK2 has been babied, never off-roaded. Only thoughts for cause here included poor water management, perhaps a design flaw with the suspension setup. We shared details with Chrysler and asked for help but as has been our experience with all issues, no help of any kind. Given the serious nature of this issue we have also shared the details with NHTSA. Chrysler Case#28248702 and NHTSA Case#10809346
