I was driving back home around my neighborhood and stopped at an intersection, I hit the gas peddle to move the vehicle, however the vehicle accelerated and skid 180 degrees hitting a vehicle on the side of the road which was going the opposite direction, the speed was not high, however no matter how much I hit the brake peddle the car wouldn't stop, the only reason that the car stopped was that the other vehicle was pushed so much that it reached the pavement and stopped! It's important to mention that the incident occurred in correlation with the Electronic Stability Control light on... The light is still on even after the accident!. The light appeared several times and I informed the dealership about it, they tried to figure out what seems to be the problem but didn't find anything.

Note that my car is under extended warantee and has always been serviced and maintained in the dealership, the vehicle was never modified nor manipulated mechanically in any way or form. The last service was done around 10 days ago! where they told me that they had Campaign Converted from Desk, Campaign number; R09.

Moreover the car had recalled the R09 on 21 April 2015 and performed RRT recall 14022.

Approaching a red light at a busy intersection, my brake pedal became extremely stiff. Pushing down as hard as I could, my car was still rolling. I luckily used the emergency brake and the car stopped before rear ending the car in front of me. Car had to be towed to dealership where it is currently sitting until the holiday weekend is over. Very convenient.

I had dropped my Jeep off at the local dealer on a Sunday to have a state inspection and open recalls performed, which included a visor vanity lamp wiring inspection and a brake booster inspection for water infiltration. I would be out of town all week on business and told them I would pick it up Friday.

The inspection and recalls were performed and I picked up my vehicle. On the drive home I approached an intersection (after a crest of a hill on a downhill slope) and found that my brake booster had failed leaving me with basically no brakes (non-power assisted). I felt as if I had pushed the brake pedal through the firewall, pumped the brakes and ended up taking my vehicle to the berm of the road avoiding about 6 other cars. No one was hurt and no damage to any vehicle but this could have been obviously much worse.

Once I had made phone calls to both the dealer and Chrysler Roadside Assistance I found myself angry and disappointed. In order to have my Jeep towed I was asked to provide a credit card for payment even after explaining the situation; that the failure was due to a "Chrysler Safety Recall", which had failed. It turns out that the warranty for road service had expired at the end December 2014. Finally after 1.5 hours on the phone explaining my situation to 4 different people and turning all shades of red and purple they waived the charges and had my Jeep towed.

The best part of the situation was the dealer stating that they have had a few failures even after the inspection completed (A vacuum test of the booster to determine its integrity).

A sealed unit that can have the potential to fail should have been replaced rather than "inspected". We are not dealing with oil dipsticks that will not cause a vehicle to have an accident.

Lost total braking ability this Sunday morning on the way home from Church. Now it's Sunday and we can't call anyone to fix the car and now have to figure out how to get to work on Monday. Then call the dealer and make arrangements for a rental car. Not how I want to spend a day off, thanks Chrysler . My wife did get a recall notice months back and took the car in to dealer. The dealer Greenwood of Cortland,Ohio looked at it and told her there was nothing wrong with the brakes but would order the part and call her when it was in. That was in June 18th of 2014, never got back to us.

Now from reading all the posts on here, Chrysler knows about this brake issue and must not think people lives are that important....... To send people out to drive a New Car with issues like this is total bull,,,, what if my wife was injured or injured someone else ?

Oh yes, guess who would have a increase in insurance, have to pay the deductible if we had a crash,, we would. From what I can find out is that the brake booster pump has failed over and over on lots of theses cars but do to lack of parts people and owners are just sent back out on the road. I have owned 3 Chrysler cars and trucks, this is the last for us. Dodge Ram Pickup had brake and front end problems, then the transmission. The next was a Magnum, it had lots of electrical and window issues never fixed.. Now a new Jeep with no brakes ... I guess it's time to go to German cars. SO SAD. I always wanted to buy American and have until now. Good Bye Chrysler, Chevy and Ford. you guys make me mad.

Cars I now own, 2014 C7 Corvette, 2010 Ford F150 4x4, 1997 Jeep Wrangler, 2012 Grand Cherokee, not for long.
