I took my Jeep to have fuel pump relay and alternator recalls serviced at napleton Jeep in kissimmee fl and the car broke down a few days after being serviced, had the car towed to the dealership where they charged me $189 to say it was the starter that was bad and quoted me $800, I felt put off and got the car towed to a diff private owned shop for a second opinion, the mechanic did a full diagnosis and provided proof that the starter is good and its the alternator, stated that the dealership not only installed improperly but that the part is faulty, . ground wire was not connected to the engine and therefore it couldn't be started alternator charge wire installed in an incorrect position and tugging on harness and protective cover can't be placed over power wire alternator not charging and getting extremely hot, all of which should be covered under warranty, so I went back to the dealership and asked for the service manager, oscar, who told me he would not only not refund any money for the mis diagnosis but he would also charge me for any further repairs even tho the part that was installed two weeks ago is the one that has and issue and should one still under the same warranty. Then I was harassed by service manager who threatened violence on my family over the phone. The Jeep now even once repaired could have so many issues arise as well because of the negligence this dealership has shown, the have underqualified and unsupervised technicians doing jobs they are not ready to be doing alone. Now I worry for my safety and longevity of my vehicle. The dealership also left the car running the entire time they had it. So my battery was shot and it is brand new. I have all receipts and documents as well just your website isn't allowing to upload them all so I included a photo to show how negligent this dealership was.

The contact owns a 2012 Jeep Grand Cherokee. The contact received notification of NHTSA campaign number: 19V813000 (electrical system) however, the part to do the recall repair was unavailable. The vehicle was taken to mancari's Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram (4630 95th St, oak lawn, il 60453; (708) 423-0910) where it was confirmed that the part was not available and that the manufacturer was only providing one part per week. The contact stated that the manufacturer exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The contact stated that while attempting to accelerate the vehicle would fail to accelerate intermittently, as well as, there was no warning light to indicate when the failure would occur. The contact would have to release the acceleration pedal and slow down first before they could pick up in speed. The contact took the vehicle to the dealer who informed the contact that their fuel pump relay switch needed to be replaced. The contact was informed that the recall was regarding the vehicle's external relay switch, which, was outside of the relay box. The contact was told by the dealer that they could replace the entire relay system. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure, however, they decided not to replace the entire relay box. The approximate failure mileage was 112,000.

I was driving down the road and all of a sudden all the lights on the dash lit up and then the vehicle completely shut down, with no power. This happened while I was driving, so thank god it happen late when there was no traffic. I immediately smelled electrical burning and there was absolutely no power to the vehicle. I had to have the vehicle towed to the dealership. The dealership determined that the alternator burned up and damaged the battery. This exact issue is recall T36 but Jeep states that that recall does not apply to my vehicle because I have a 220amp alternator. Obviously, if my vehicle experienced the exact same symptom that the T36 recall is for, the 220amp alternator is also affected. The initial repair cost me $1500. A month later I had to have another repair for $3000, due to electrical issues, where the parking assist and blind spot assist modules went out, along with a headlamp motor assembly. It has been 3 months since that repair and now I have more electrical issues. The check engine light has come on again and I get a service 4WD system, the heat is intermittent, and my temp gauge doesn't move. I have been emailing back and forth with Jeep customer care but they just keep saying that the T36 alternator issue doesn't apply to my vehicle.

The latest incident happened Sunday 11/29/20. Prior to this, the event has happened at least 4 other times. While driving at highway speed 55-70 and slowly coming down to a stop on a ramp or turning the vehicle while decreasing speed, the engine will stop running. No visual or auditory warnings happen, you're only aware when you feel the power steering has gone away, and the tachometer reads zero RPM. I have been able to safely pull off and stop in each event, the vehicle needs to be cycled off and then restarted. The safety concern is this event could happen into left turn across oncoming traffic with no ability to accelerate out of harms way.

Due to the safety recall V62 I've experienced multiple incidents of my 2012 Grand Cherokee stalling while driving. Within 6 months I've had the relay sensors replaced twice (no charge) and a new fuel pump, $1,200 out of pocket and my Jeep still stalled. This is now the 4th time my Jeep is sitting at the dealership with no fix and fca will not reimburse me for a rental. My case manager from fca said I am out of warranty, since when does a safety recall fall under a warranty? so either I drive an accident waiting to happen or continue to pay for a rental so that I can get back and forth to work. This is unacceptable that fca still does not have a fix for this and now instead of a car payment I'm paying twice as much for a rental.

I was driving to work one morning, when I began to smell something burning. I then saw smoke coming from under the hood. I immediately pulled over, on the side of the street, turned the vehicle off, and popped the hood. I saw that the alternator was literally on fire! it then, burned out and began to smoke. I then, disconnected the battery and called a tow truck. Needless to say, I had to replace the alternator. I thought this was random, until I saw the issue online. I contacted the Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep dealership where I purchased the vehicle, but they said they knew nothing of this issue. Can I be reimbursed for the purchase of the replacement alternator?

On two or three occasions in the last year, when I go to start the engine, the engine cranks many times, but won't start. I would typically believe this to be a "no fuel to the engine" issue or "no spark", but once I'm able to stop the car from cranking (which has been an issue) and attempt to start the engine again, it does so without incident. It makes me think that there is an electrical issue in the ignition system. There is no rhyme or reason as to when this happens or may happen.

This vehicle has on at least four separate occasions in the last 2 years just simply stopped running. To be clear, each time I was in the middle of driving somewhere and the engine would just stop. Each time, I was driving somewhere locally and on city streets. The first few times this happened, I was either stopped at a stop sign, or stopped at a red traffic light, at which, I either "felt" the engine stop, or I realized it when I went to proceed after the stop and got no reaction from the car when I hit the gas and tried to proceed on my way. These times, I simply turned off the ignition, and started the engine again. I don't remember and didn't take note of whether all electrical had turned off or not. But the most recent time this happened was very concerning. It was July 10th, approximately 11pm, and I was driving on a local boulevard at approximately 40-45mph when, again, the engine just stopped. This of course, disabled power steering and power brakes. Headlights and radio continued to work. Thankfully, I was able to safely pull over and turn on my hazards. I then turned off the ignition, and was able to start the engine again. The car has not replicated the issue since then, but I have to consider this when I take my family for a drive/trip. I have to consider their safety, and the thought that it could just stop in the middle of a turn or at high speeds on the freeway, or both, is very concerning. The fact that the engine just stops, (and doesn't sputter or shudder or shake to a stop) makes me believe this is an electrical problem.
