problem #1

Mar 092020

Grand Cherokee Limited 3.2L V6

  • Automatic transmission
  • 95,680 miles

The timing chain broke and shrapnel destroyed engine while traveling at 65 mph on a freeway. The car immediately lost drive and had to coast through heavy traffic to the edge of the road. The Service Center said the engine had sucked in shrapnel from the chain and destroyed it.

The only fix was to put a rebuilt or new engine in it. Cost for a rebuilt engine was $5,815.18. Extended warranty covered it after fighting it for 2 months. I was able to prove I had changed oil regularly and followed all maintenance recommendations to the T.

Finally got my car back after nearly 3 months.

Then the transmission failed ... new complaint. This is my 3rd, and last Jeep. I will never buy another one and I will warn others against them until the day I die.
