Grand Cherokee

  • 189,000 miles
The contact owns a 2012 Jeep Grand Cherokee. The contact stated that while the vehicle was parked, the vehicle failed to start. The check engine warning light was illuminated. The contact stated that the accelerator pedal was depressed, but the vehicle failed to respond, and was stalling. The vehicle was towed to an independent mechanic where it was diagnosed and determined that the vehicle was not starting due to a fuel-related failure. The vehicle was then towed to the dealer where it was repaired under NHTSA Campaign Number: 19V813000 (ELECTRICAL SYSTEM). The dealer then diagnosed the vehicle with a faulty fuel pump. The contact stated that the vehicle had experienced the same failure listed in NHTSA Campaign Number: 22V406000 (FUEL SYSTEM, DIESEL); however, the VIN was not included in the recall. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 189,000.
