The contact owns a 2012 Jeep Grand Cherokee. While driving 50 mph, the windshield had a loose connection that created an abnormal noise and vibration. The dealer was informed of the windshield failure, but the vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired due to the diagnostic fee. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 70,500.

I was washing my car in my driveway while I was washing my car everything was fine. As I started to dry all of a sudden there was a large crack on my windshield starting from rear view mirror. I know I was leaning on the top of my car to wash and dry but I know I'm not large enough or strong enough to make this crack. I never leaned on the windshield ever. After reading other people's concerns with this situation I could have leaned on the car and added more pressure to an already pressure point to the vehicle. I called the dealer and spoke with a manager and he just said perhaps a rock I mentioned I would go over and show him. I took it to the dealer and they found no chip or anything that may have been the cause. I was told they would talk about it and let me know. I want to know one dealer had 75 windshield on back order. Perhaps this was a manufacturer defect and they are trying to sweep it under the carpet.
