Intermittently, vehicle will take a long time to start using the push-to-start button. Sometimes the engine will stall seconds after the long start happens, after enough time to go into drive/reverse from being stationary. At that time the only way to restart is to re-cycle the push-to-start button through the off/accessory/on. Typically after the stall the vehicle will start right up. Monday 5, June 2107 coming off highway 695 my Jeep started shutting down, I pulled off to the side of the road my Jeep shut everything off. I had my Jeep towed to the local Jeep service shop. Next morning tate Jeep told me that it would about two weeks, and about $2,500 to repair my Jeep. I called a mechanic that I know, I told him what tate told me he had my Jeep towed to him. He used the diagnostics tool to diagnose my Jeep the mechanic told me that I needed to replace alternator, battery, starter, ECM it would take him about a week to compete all the needed work and about $1,100 estimate. I paid $1,800 and had to use 16 hours of vacation time from my job. Tuesday, November 14, 2017. While talking with my mechanic and he said the battery keeps draining. Later I started searching for you-tube clips, and then auto recalls popped-up. Omg I entered my VIN number and my Jeep has 5 recalls! really five. As instructed I call the local Jeep retailer and explain all of my issues that my Jeep has been having and the NHTSA recalls. The service manager recommends for me to have my Jeep towed to them but they couldn't look at it until next Monday, November 20, 2017. So on that note I asked if they offer car rental? no they don't that's crazy the recalls are from your manufacturer.

Driving home from work on Friday evening of labor day weekend (9/1/2017) the check engine light in my vehicle went on. I took my car to a good year dealership in town. They told me my alternator was going out and needed to be replaced. They were not aware of any recalls on that vehicle at that time although, I do think one existed. When I contacted Jeep about this the following week they indicated a recall was in place and I needed to submit a form for reimbursment. I have checked with Jeep several times and they indicated that they have the necessary paperwork but will not be issueing refund checks until 2018. This is five months after I have incurred the expense and submitted a request for reimbursement.

The tipm failed on the vehicle while driving down the road bringing the vehicle to a sudden stop. All functions in the car were halted. This resulted in stranding my teenage daughter in the middle of a busy road in a very dangerous situation. After being towed to the dealership they informed me that it would cost me $1349.36 to replace the faulty tipm. Numerous research into this problem reveals many similar problems with the tipm from Jeep which could likely to result in serious safety related problems not to mention very costly repairs. This problem should be addressed further.

Hi on September 8, 2017, while driving my bus quietly, I feel a strange noise in my bus Jeep, suddenly warmed up, they turned all the lights on the panel and went out, we called the service of crane, to take it to the dealer triangle in mayaguez, P.R. when I go to the dealer, they notify me that my Jeep has an alternator recall (which I never received a notification, since the dealer has my wrong address in his record). The dealer notifies me that they do not have the piece in the warehouse and that they have to order in Florida and that it will take maybe two weeks. My husband, Mr. Hector caban seeing that this situation was going to become a little difficult decided to rent a a car at allied car. We paid $656.70 in car rental. The dealer promised to give me a car and at this moment October 26, 2017 nothing happens. Currently, I am resident of puerto rico and in this process hurracaine maria arrives in puerto rico on September 20, 2017. Actually the dealer inform to me that they have no lights no system and they cannot fix my bus promptly. Actually they inform to me that my alternator are in the docks in san juan, pr and these trucks are confiscated by fema, since the priority is to take the trucks with food and water to distribute to the victims of hurracaine maria. I need to resolve this situation, and the dealer has taken too long to resolve this, they are very negligent and not at all empathic with this. This recall was in June, why I was never warned, this situation could have been avoided if I had been contacted via cell phone or email. This situation would not have come so far, if they had been efficient. In the midst of this catastrophe I find my hands tied, frustrated and I do not know what to do. The triangle dealer in mayaguez and his manager Mr. Ismael medina has made no effort to resolve this issue, his customer service is terrible.

The vehicle was included in NHTSA campaign number: 17V435000 (electrical system) for the alternator replacement, but the part was unavailable. The dealer stated that they could replace the alternator with another alternator for a fee. Once the recall alternator was available, the dealer could replace it with the correct alternator from the manufacturer. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and provided case number: 32614886. The manufacturer confirmed that the parts were unavailable and there would be a fee for the non-recalled part. No additional assistance was offered. The failure mileage was 150,000.

I smelled something burning while idling at a stop, and then the alternator began making a whining noise after vehicle began moving and vehicle began throwing codes (check park assist). After shutting car off it wouldn't start again. Replaced alternator, battery, ground straps and car would then start but continued givng off codes and wouldn't run right. (wipers coming on by themselves, etc.) had to have the car towed to the dealer, who replaced the computer but charged me $600 and denied it was related to the alternator. Recall notice then received for alternator, but I'm now out $1,244.21 for alternator, battery, ground straps, tow and computer. Parts not available by Jeep to fix the problem for this recall. Have submitted receipts to Jeep but don't know what will be covered since dealership refused to fix computer as a related expense to the alternator.
