The jeep acts like it is possessed. The lights go on and off, buzzing noises near the front under the hood, not just the normal noises, doors lock and unlock.

The air blower has failed due to the faulty TIPM. I can't drive the car without heat in Chicago winter. And air conditioning in the summer is important.

Additionally, the back wiper doesn't work due to the TIPM.

TIPM > This unit was recently replaced at a cost of $1200. I want to be reimbursed by Chrysler. If you are experiencing weird electrical issues, mine were; occasional not starting, A/C blower not working, key not present, check engine light w/trouble code for cooling fan P048. Then my fellow Jeep consumers you have experienced the problems of a defective TIPM {FUSE BOX} in my Opinion...If you, like me, don’t have a extra $1200. to give away,vPlease speak up and make a STINK...

Grand Cherokee Overland 5.7L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 56,000 miles

Left side of the dash cluster (gauges) bounced approx. 90 degrees out of where they should be. The tachometer registers approx. 2500 rpm less than it should. At cruise speed it shows you are going minus rpm's. The analog temperature gauge now starts in the middle at cold and shows it as overheating as the vehicle warms up even though it is running at normal temp. The digital display in the center shows normal temperature.

Grand Cherokee Limited 5.7L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 75,000 miles

My car is currently at 76k miles. Since around 20k miles, my car has had issues with starting that happens intermittently.. slow/no response from push button start, slow/no response with smart entry system when locking/unlocking doors. All of these issues are very intermittent.

To go into more detail about the starting issue, the car would start completely, but then shortly after the RPM would drop to 0 and the electrical components would stay on. When trying to push the start button again, it would try to crank for 15 seconds. It's necessary to completely power off the car to properly start the car. Sometimes the issue presents itself immediately after. These issues happen with both key FOBs even after switching to fresh batteries.

I've taken it to Jeep dealership 4-5 times with no resolution. They have replaced the fuel pump relay twice for attempt to resolve starting issue. They were never able to duplicate or no codes would present themselves. I have strong suspicion of the TIPM (Totally Integrated Power Module) failing, which is approximately $1200 to replace. Even though I have the extended warranty, Jeep will not replace until duplicated. I even left the car at Jeep for a week one of those visits. The issues happen almost every other day or on a very bad week, every day the car is used. Jeep customer service is very poor and I've been stuck with this issue for way too long. The starting issue even happened today, twice.

Grand Cherokee Larado V6

  • Automatic transmission
  • 35,000 miles

This car has been nothing but problems for me. This issue started in April around 35000 miles. Now at 38000 miles and out of warranty it's still happening. I reported the issue at the dealership at 36900 miles. Nothing was found. It randomly won't start, it makes a high pitched beep noise, it will act like it wants to stall, it will randomly not respond to pushing the start button. Looks like a TIPM issue to me based on Google research. Taking the car in for service Monday 6/16 to see if I can get it fixed.

Update from Jun 16, 2014: Dropped the car off this morning. It is a TIPM issue. They are going to replace it under warranty as the first complaint on this issue was made at 35900. I'll update if this resolves the issue or not.

Update from Jun 18, 2014: I picked up my car today. The TIPM was replaced a long with the C4 wiring connectors. It was covered by Chrysler under good will warranty. Lets hope this resolves the issue.
