Was driving to play golf on a Saturday morning. Stopped at the convenience store to grab a drink. It would not start after I came out of the convenience store. This had happened several times before, so I tried starting it every other minute for a while, as it would normally restart after a while. I tried for about 20 minutes but the battery was sounding like it was dying so I called for a ride home with the expectation that I would come back later and it would start and drive. I came back a few ours later, and it would still not start. I tried for about 10 minutes and finally called a tow truck to take it to the mechanic.

Dealership reported that I must have water in the engine from power washing & that's why the part malfunctioned. Chrysler corporation denied there was a major factory problem. I was told they would pay 800 toward total cost then a week later notified that the dealership wouldn't agree to the payment and I would need to front the payment and be reimbursed later. Chrysler refused to put ANYTHING in writing. Possibly the company with the least morals and ethics.

TIPM issue. Won't repair since vehicle did not display signs while at the shop. Dealer service center said has had numerous complaints and probably results from faulty TIPM. Expects 2013 Jeeps to be added to the recall for TIPM but has no idea when. Not helpful to me since I only have 20 miles left under warranty, what if this becomes a MAJOR issue for me tomorrow and I'm out of warranty?!?

This is the third time the Jeep doesn't start... This time my pregnant wife gets stuck with the Jeep in the Shop Rite parking lot. I had to leave work because I didn't want my wife to stress, sit in a parking lot by herself waiting for a tow truck. Chrysler roadside was contacted and they said a tow truck is on the way. I arrived, gave my wife my car and sent her on her way...while waiting for the tow truck I attempted in 20min intervals trying to start the Jeep with no luck. I even recorded it with my phone this time. 2 1/2 hours later the tow truck arrives..the tow company was from Hewitt, NJ, I was in Rochelle Park, NJ. I don't know why Chrysler roadside didn't contact a closer tow company but that's another issue.. Again..the Jeep gets towed to RT 46 Jeep..and once it got off the flat bed..it started right up. Luckily I had recorded the Jeep not starting earlier..showed the video to the service writer..stated they were going to replace the fuel pump relay control circuit overlay harness..same was replaced and I got the Jeep back in a few days..

Well..this is the 4th time the Jeep won't start...about to leave the house to bring my pregnant wife to the doctor and it doesn't start, again...Less then 400 miles since it's last visit to the dealer for the same problem...Recorded it again with my phone...left the car in the driveway..and we jumped in my 96 Nissan Maxima with 178,000 miles on it (NOT ONE PROBLEM EVER!!) and went to the doc.. Got back 3 hours later..tried starting it..turned on but shut right off this time..tried a few more times and it stayed on..Called the dealer...they didn't have any loaners left..so I'm taking my chances with it in the am...will update...

09/09/2014 with 19808 miles. car wouldn't start. I lease all of my wife's cars so she doesn't have any issues with her cars....boy was I wrong when I stopped getting cars from Acura and got this POS! Pressing the start button, the car cranks but doesn't turn over/start. Got the Jeep towed to Chrysler Jeep Dodge of Paramus. They had the car for about 5 days and stated they have to change the TIPM( totally integrated power control module)...advised by the dealer that the TIPM is on backorder for a week and a half to 2 weeks and was told they do not provide loaners. Keep in mind that I lease this car and this is the only form of transportation my wife has.
I was directed to call Chrysler Corp to have them provide me with a rental "shouldn't be a problem" says the service manager. After hours on the phone with the worst (Jeep) customer service and having to speak with numerous customer care representatives who neither of them knew what they were doing...seemed like everyone was just trying to pass the buck...I was on the phone from 2p to 6p trying to get Chrysler Corp to pay for my rental since I didn't cause the problem with the car. The car clearly has a defect and I shouldn't be paying for both the leased Jeep (which I can't drive) and a rental. I was told a case manager will contact me within the next 24-48hrs..
I eventually had to pay for my own rental since the rental company closed at 6p. The following day I again contacted Chrysler Corp in hopes of getting someone on the phone who knew how to do their job. Not quite yet! First person I spoke with kept me on hold for 28 MINUTES! After he got back on the phone, all he found out was a name and a number for a case manager (Tiffany 855-525-5085 ex:4720430) Told him I didn't want to call an empty desk so I asked him to see if Tiffany was at her desk and available... Now I'm put on hold for 42 MIN!. Got back on the phone...couldn't find Tiffany.. stated she will get in touch with me within 24-48hrs...hung up on him and called back the next day. Now I get Adriane. explained her the whole story... Adriane (part's escalation manager) states Tiffany is no longer the case manager. Stated another case manager will contact me within the next 24-48hrs and that the TIPM will be on expedited delivery. At this point I wanted to file a complaint with Adriane about the hours I had to spend on the phone and how no one knew what they were doing. Adriane stated that she does not know the standard operating procedure of taking a complaint from a customer....this is a manager we are talking about!!!!!
Hang up with Adriane and Long behold! Erica was my saving grace. Explained her the whole story..she got me on the phone with a case manager (Rebecca) in 20 min, who gave me a full refund of my rental. Seems like Chrysler tries to aggravate their customers to the point where they don't want to deal with it anymore....

My problem has persisted since I purchased the vehicle in November of 2012. I hit the ignition switch and the car starts and then dies. I try to hit the button again and it just cranks and cranks and won't start. The only way to get the car to start is to cycle on and off the ignition switch and try it again.
I brought it into the dealership and they said unless they can recreate the issue they can't identify the problem, and also claimed they did research and couldn't come up with any similar complaints and sent me home. I did about five minutes worth of online research and found the TIPM issue along with countless complains about ignition switch issues. I called the dealership and reported my findings. They were familiar with the TIPM issue, but said they can't just replace a part unless it can be proved that is the issue.
Pretty poor that the dealership/Jeep will not acknowledge or fix the issue.

I am SO upset with Jeep and the dealership!
My 2013 Grand Cherokee that I might say is VERY well kept, but wouldn’t start one min to the next. Nothing indicating anything was wrong. I backed it up to clean it and when I was done tried to start it to put it back in the garage, it wouldn’t start. I used the push button, the lights were on, radio was playing windows were going up and down no problem. I waited a few hours and tried again. Same issue. So I tried my remote start. Started up, no problem. Thought it was a fluke. Had to pick my daughter-in law up at midnight about a half hr from my house. Used the push start, started up no problem (still thinking earlier was a fluke) as I’m on the highway (95) and the truck was hesitating. When going up a hill, it was hesitating. But I made it back home.
Next day same issue, push start won’t work, the engine would turn over as usual but wouldn’t start. Used the remote start and it started up. My son changed the battery in the remote start and the battery in the truck assuming that might be the issue. NOPE, same problems. He took it to his shop and put it on the diagnosis machine and he said there weren't any codes. So I started to do some research. In researching a hard starting problem with our 2013 Grand Cherokee I’ve read several posts which sounded very similar to what we have experienced and wouldn’t you know it there are TONS of issues with Jeep having recalls issues related to starting so I called the dealer to make an appointment. I explained what was happening to my Jeep, and asked could it possibly be the same issue that my truck was recalled for already. He said might be (R09 Fuel Relay recall ) but that if it is the dealer said they already replaced that and will not do again unless it is pd for, after they put the Jeep on their diagnosis machine at $175.00 per Hr. So just to walk into the dealership it will be $175.00, IF it only takes a hr, if not the second hr will also be $175.00. And I must say I was terribly upset with the Service Manager, he was pretty nasty, essentially blaming me for the problem.
So after they completed the 9TH RECALL I pick up my Jeep with hopes that I could do more research. I also called Jeep. The lady was very nice but they will do NOTHING except add my complaint to their system. So what I have found out that many people had the same problem as I did and JEEP knows all about these problems!!! Jeep/Chrysler have put faulty TIPMs in these cars and do not want to put a recall out on them. Even though this is a safety hazard which can kill people due to their faulty equipment.
Many cars with my model have had the same complaints and Jeep refuses to take responsibility for the faulty parts!!! So the faulty TIPM has the fuel pump running constantly, which drains the battery it runs when the car is off. This is so dangerous in many levels and JEEP DOESN'T EVEN HAVE THE PARTS TO FIX THIS from what I’m told. They offer a temporary solution to install a fuel pump harness bypass so that the fuel pump turns off this is a band-aid and an expensive one that costs approx. $1200 after parts and labor!
After researching this problem I found the issue to be a TIPM problem and now am aware that I am not alone. There is no recall on this?! WHY NOT???? This is my 2nd Jeep and I wanted a 3rd but after zero response to this could-be life threatening issue from Chrysler, I will NEVER own another Jeep again. And will be sure to tell everyone and anyone how irresponsible I feel they are with the 10th what should be Recall!
Update from Dec 9, 2019: This is how Dodge completed my recall for the no Start/TIPM issue. And wanted to charge me $175.00 per hr to put it on their diagnosis machine.
