The contact owns a 2013 Jeep Grand Cherokee. The contact stated that the fuel pump did not pump fuel. The vehicle was restarted a couple of times to get the fuel pump to work. There was no warning indicator illuminated. The vehicle was taken to iverson Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram huron (605-352-8686, located at 101 2nd St sw, huron, sd) where it was diagnosed that the fuel pump relay needed to be replaced. The technician also confirmed that the vehicle was included in NHTSA campaign number: 19V813000 (electrical system), but the part was on backorder. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 140,000. VIN tool confirms parts not available.

While driving 35 mph, the vehicle stalled and was towed to griffin's hub Chrysler Jeep Dodge Ram (5700 S 27th St, milwaukee, wi 53221, (414) 325-3333) where it was diagnosed that the external fuel pump relay needed replacement. The dealer informed the contact that the vehicle was serviced per NHTSA campaign number: 15V115000 (electrical system) and the warranty failed to cover the replacement external relay, which was failing. The manufacturer was contacted and they verified the recall parts were covered by warranty for ten years, but refused to cover the fuel pump relay because it was external. The contact was awaiting further information from the manufacturer regarding the warranty coverage and assistance. The VIN was not available. The failure mileage was 110,000.
