Has been having issues with the hydralyft suspension. There has been a leak in both front air suspension fittings that connect to the air lines that supply air to both of the front air bag suspension suspension shocks. Replaced both of those out of pocket. My main reason for contacting you guys today is because I've searched my vin number & after further research I've found out that my 2014 jeep grand Cherokee overland w/the 5.7Litet hemi engine has started to give me some issues the other day with the battery dying while I was driving it home. The very next day i walked outside because I was about to head to work. So I cranked my SUV up noticed the battery light on the dash was back on again but then I seen a little bit of smoke coming out from underneath my hood so I shut my truck off opened the hood & seen it was coming from my alternator. I even got a video of when I opened the hood that morning when I seen the smoke, & when Iooked under the hood the copper wound wrapped diodes inside the alternator were glowing red hot the color of lava. All I smelled was burning copper so it was on the verge of the metal being so hot it melted, like they were just pulled out of a metal furnace. My vin number should be in this request I can provide it if not. I can also provide pics & video of suv & alternator. I pulled the alternator off earlier myself because I've been out of transportation for the past week. So I'm going to get it testing here ina bit.

Current issue - while waiting in a fast food line the battery light came on... after receiving food - I pulled into a parking spot and before I could turn the vehicle off, it started giving off error codes related to various electrical items not being available - first warning - svc. Air suspension - second - blind spot detection not available - third evic error - fourth - adaptive cruise not available... then died and smelt like burning rubber when I exited the vehicle... a failed effort by roadside service to jump the vehicle did manage to turn on the windshield wipers which wouldn't turn off but that's all that accomplished so I had roadside service put it on a flatbed and tow it to my house since nothing was opened and I didn't want to leave it somewhere with the windows down (of course they wouldn't roll up)... pretty clearly this should be part of the T39 alternator recall that was issued due to bad diodes which cause the alternator to fry the electrical components with very little warning... the car should die and then the replacement of the alternator should rectify the situation... not - the light comes on - the car immediately dies - and then you need a new PCM or ECM and all new wiring... issue #2 - the suspension has been a total fiasco accumulating $13,000 in dealer assessments not under warranty - the whole system has gone out within 80,000 miles and even after replacing 2 air struts - 2 upper control arms - the tie rods end links - and the cv axles - and the compressor - it still sounds like a rickety bucket of junk... when driving - always. Issue #3 - the water pump continuously fails. - not sure if when driving but one would suspect that to be the case.

Bought my car from parks Ford of wesley chapel on 7/16/17. 2 days later, the car had trouble starting.my mechanic looked it over. It had a power steering rack leak and embedded dirt underneath its carrier. Brought car back to Ford. They found nothing. Called again because of same problem. Was told by manager duber to try locking and unlocking car to engage starter. Did not work. Brought to Jeep. They found that a recall on the relay to the fuel pump was never fixed. They also said the front shocks were blown and leaking and not covered under warranty. Warranty company said that car had preexisting conditions and should have never left the dealership. They refused to fix it. This great price was false representation and misleading. I never would have bought the car knowing it needed all of this work.

Warning light while driving, "immediate attention required air suspension system". overland model air compressor leak after 31 months. Air compressor is not covered due to mileage, but is not a wear/tear related part. Dealer repair $2266.07. Multiple calls to Chrysler for some help with part resulted in no help. A compressor should not fail in 2.5 years; the warranty from the component manufacturer is likely at least 3 years (I am in the refregeration business and know about compressor warranties). The part seems to be problematic based upon searches and the fact that the part is on a national back order from alternate suppliers.
