Grand Cherokee Lerado 3.6L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 125,000 miles

Liftgate all of a sudden stopped working. No 'open' button (3 to choose) works. I was told by dealer to replace the latch assembly ($185.00). I removed the inner panel and I'm able to stick my hand around the latch assy. and open it manually. When I close it, it seems the latch works and latches the gate. I'm thinking it might be a relay. All fuses are good. First thing I checked. A few weeks later my sunroof switch quit working normally. Usually I press the open switch and it opens. Now I have to press it multiple times to get it to close.

I've owned many Grand Cherokee's with no issues until now. Can't believe Mopar created a fully electronic hatch. No mechanical emergency release. Dumb. This will probably be my last Jeep Grand Cherokee...
