The contact owns a 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee. While driving 10 to 15 mph, the driver's headrest air bag abruptly deployed. There were no injuries. The vehicle was taken to romano Chrysler Jeep (215 w genesee street, fayatteville, NY 13066, 315-637-3101) where it was diagnosed that the driver's headrest air bag needed to be reset. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was contacted and stated that there was no recall for the failure. The VIN was not available. The approximate failure mileage was 58,000.

Takata recall while driving my car doing 20 mph in normal driving conditions my passenger headrest deployed hitting an elderly passenger in the back of their head. Hurting them. The headrest deployed like an airbag. It was spring loaded. I called my dealer and they told me it was not covered under warranty and that there were no recalls. This is very unsafe and these headrests should not be in any vehicle at all. I fear now that while I'm driving that the driver side headrest will deployed for no reason and hurt me too while driving. This will cause serious injuries. Very upset

The vehicle was repaired. In addition, while driving 65 mph, the engine warning indicator illuminated. The vehicle was taken to rydell Chrysler where it was diagnosed that the engine failed and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 22,000.
