This problem may be covered under warranty. Ask your Jeep dealer.
I've owned a 2011, 2012 and now a 2014 Grand Cherokee Overland. The build quality has definitely declined.

I spent over $50K on this vehicle and went through a great deal to acquire the jeep. I had to fly into california and drive it back home to find the exact jeep I wanted. Between driving it off the lot, and parking it at my house (250 miles) I noticed the oil leak in my driveway. Its been in the shop for 6 days so far. I already sold my old vehicle so I spent $50k for a vehicle that I is sitting in the shop. I'm not happy that I have to go even 2 days without a vehicle after buying a BRAND NEW vehicle. Yes, I have rental car coverage, but its more of a pain in the ass to get the rental car than its worth. My warranty still requires that I pay $5/day. At this point I've elected to not get the rental, partly because of the principal that I shouldn't spend that much money to get a cheap rental car and have to pay for it. And to be honest, my wife has been home with our newborn so we've made it work with one car.
Still a crappy inconvenience. This is also my FIRST jeep purchase and does not give me much hope for their grand cherokee's going forward. I've also found through some jeep forums that many other owners are having issues with their brand new 2013 and 2014 grand cherokees. I'd wait until the 2015 before I got a problem model year.
