The jeep was not charging and vehicle stalled, put jumper pack on and drove to dealer, battery pack went 1 mile from dealer, they tried to jump start and starter burned out. Towed vehicle to dealer, Service manager said
call back, was not covered because it was not in the vin numbers that were recalled.
It should be regardless of a vin number, Alternator should last for quite a while, just because a car company only recalls a certain number, I tend to think it is more about $.
Why should I have to pay a $200.00 deductible if it is a warranty issue.
Tested alternator prior to going and it was not charging.

SMOKE UNDER HOOD, TRANSMISSION SHIFT PROBLEM, APPEARS THAT THE 160 AMP ALTERNATOR, WHICH HAS BEEN WAITING TO BE REPAIRED FOR 6 MONTHS, IS THE CAUSE OF THE ISSUE---DEALER DOES NOT KNOW WHEN PART WILL BE AVAILABLE TO FIX AS PER RECALL
SOLUTION:
TRADED THE VEHICLE ON THE DAY OF INCIDENT---BET YOUR BUTT IT IS NOT A JEEP. LOST MONEY BUT SAFETY IS IMPORTANT FOR MY FAMILY--ADD ME TO THE CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT IF THERE IS ONE FOR N.Y.

This was really annoying since it was really hard to pull the car out of the road and after that costs 1000$ to replace. i had many different cars before and never had this problem with a car age 4 years and low mileage, also after checking online i found that the problem had happened with many owners for the models 2014 and 2015.
