The engine oil and filter was recently changed and a few days later oil is now leaking down the engine bay onto the exhaust and onto the skid plates. The correct torque was used and oil filter seal as well as the drain plug are dry. The canister housing has either cracked or seals have failed on that part. It is a known issue with an upgraded part available from FCA. I did not notice it until arriving home after a 20 mile drive and oil was everywhere. this could have caused a fire as there was no warning and no expectation of a leak. Opened a case with FCA to report that this part has failed on my vehicle. Case #80756602

The contact owns a 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee. The contact stated that while traveling at highway speeds, the vehicle would stall and jerk upon the depression of the accelerator as the FCM and check engine warning lights would illuminate the instrument. The contact stated that he would be forced to pull over and restart the vehicle to resume normal driving. The contact also stated that while at a stop, the vehicle stalled as he depresses the accelerator to the floorboard. Due to the failure, another vehicle rear-ended him at a low rate of speed. The air bags did not deploy upon impact. No injuries were reported and a police report was not filed. The vehicle was able to drive away from the scene; however, the vehicle had sustained rear-end damage. The dealer was notified of the failure and was informed to bring in the vehicle for an inspection. The manufacturer had yet to be notified of the failure. The vehicle had yet to be repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 60,000. Consumer stated transmission gets stuck in eighth gear. Vehicle stopped in the middle of the freeway had to put it in park and restart to move, happened dozen of times.

I was merging onto the highway from an on-ramp and the vehicle stuttered a d stalled. The jeep dealership diagnosed the issue and said it was a bad computer controller 5-10 days for part to arrive then 2 days later I was informed the computer controller wasn-??t the problem. Now they think it-??s the fuel pump. After searching the symptoms I found a recall for 2014-2016 Jeep-??s for loss in the magnetic coating on the tone wheel resulting in possible engine stall. 2014-2016 Jeep-??s manufactured between June 9 2014 and March 29 2016. Still waiting for a fix. I was stuck on the side of the highway with my 9 year old daughter for 5 hours! Safety issue!

My jeep has developed the 3.6L Penastar tick. I noticed FCA extended the warranties for vehicles equipped with the 3.6L Penastar V6 but for my model they stopped in 2013. How can I get my year added to that warranty since it developed the same problems as the previous years. We had our jeep at a local dealer in Wasilla Ak for a tune up before our long trip and he didn't mention anything to us even though the tick was noticeable. I then had my vehicle state safety inspection completed (Texas) in 1st week of June and the mechanic told me about it and after some research, my jeep has the same tick coming from the engine.

Emergency Light stating "Service Electronic Throttle Control " that caused Engine Light to come on. These Electronic warnings cause vehicle to go limp and unable to drive or move causing severe danger on the road when vehicle just shuts down. It is a software issue and requires software flush and update, this issue is so common, dealership knew what i was going to say before I even said it. Recall needed to prevent a wreck and fix before issue shuts down vehicle, and should be recalled to prevent owner's financial repair for a software glitch needing updated by car maker.

The vehicle reported a low battery followed by numerous other warnings in sequence and then within a few seconds stalled and would not restart. Upon taking the vehicle to the garage, the alternator (and consequently battery) needed to be replaced. Reading other Jeep Grand Cherokee recalls, to me the indecent sounds exactly like the NHTSA Campaign ID: 14V634000 - where ''the alternator fails and the vehicle may stall'. (Manufacturer Campaign Number: T36)

According to the recall notice I received in the mail, the EGR cooler needs to be replaced. I scheduled an appointment and took the vehicle in. Upon arrival I was told that, yes there is a repair solution but that the parts are not available. But that they would place an order and notify me when it arrives. It has been several months and still no repair. *Note* I am having to add engine coolant on a regular basis.

The EGR cooler was not properly installed by the manufacturer which has caused several failures to the vehicles engine components (such as oil cooler, engine coolant system, and the EGR itself). Additionally, the EGR cooler has an active safety recall due to risk of engine explosion and vehicle fire. The parts and remedy for this recall have been available since November. This repair is covered under BOTH the active recall as well as an extended emissions warranty that was required by a federal judge in the settlement agreement for the emissions scandal which FCA settled with the federal courts to provide remedies to its customers. Thus far, FCA has not honored the terms of this federally required extended emissions warranty on two separate occasions. I have contacted three separate dealers and FCA on two occasions. FCA has refused to assist in the EGR repairs and the dealers have refused to perform the repairs. I-??ve not been able to get any assistance from FCA, or the dealers. My EGR cooler is a safety risk and this should be addressed immediately. I have been working to get this resolved with Jeep since March 12th. I need the law to be enforced.

The glow plugs are -??stuck-?? and have broken by the service department when trying to remove due to the carbon build up in the cylinder head. The dealerships states because this car is a diesel it needs to be driven and gotten to temperature. I commute a short drive to work. This is a safety issue as I could be stranded. The contact owns a 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee. The contact stated that while driving at approximately 50 mph, the vehicle stalled with several unknown warning lights illuminated. The contact mentioned that the vehicle was starting however, the engine was not running. The vehicle was towed to the contact's residence and then to an independent mechanic to be diagnosed. The contact was informed that the tone wheel and crank sensor needed to be replaced. Bennett Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram (1491 ga-40, kingsland, ga 31548) was made aware of the failure and informed the contact that the VIN was not included in NHTSA campaign number: 20V475000 (engine and engine cooling). The vehicle was not yet repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and confirmed that the VIN was not included in the recall. The approximate failure mileage was 122,000.

Dear NHTSA: I was very disappointed when my engine developed an oil leak and the cause was due to a known mfg's defect in the plastic oil filter adapter & cooler P/N 68105583-af. The dealer (lansdale Chrysler Jeep, montgomeryville, pa) stated that this part should never fail, it's a known problem with the plastic housing developing a crack, and many thousands of these parts are on backorder because Jeep has changed suppliers. It doesn't help that the part is made of plastic and it's located under the intake manifold resulting in a bill for $977 to replace it. I was lucky as they had a replacement in stock. I've contacted Jeep seeking reimbursement. From a safety perspective, engine damage could result from a loss of oil and a risk of fire if the leaking oil contacts a hot surface. My vehicle has 86,325 miles and is no longer under warranty. Jeep should have a replacement campaign or recall due to the extreme number of failures. I hope you can help with getting Jeep to take ownership of this issue.

Left head cyclinder in engine cracked with coolant leaking to engine. 2011-2013 were extended on warranty for this but not the 2014 yet. To fix the 1 issue apparently requires replacing several other parts resulting in a astronomical bill. When got back from getting checked out the engine now makes a ticking sound. Also gear shift issues where the car will say in desired gear and won't go into park and stall out. The second was a recall but my VIN was not included. Gear shift issue happens at random and has left me in the middle of the street.

Called fca and they opened case #79173434 for me and have an appointment tomorrow at a nearby dealership for inspection of suspected oil leaking from the oil cooler/filter housing area and leaking down underneath and all over my transmission as well as my onto my driveway...will keep you posted on outcome since my 5 year warranty has expired but I'm still below the.100,000 miles-hopefully the "goodwill policy" is applicable or this issue gets more attention and turns into a recall for its potential to cause injury or even death if the oil catches fire. I cannot believe that there are more than 300 complaints involving this concern and there has not been more considerable action taken by fca us llc.
