I can understand an air line getting a leak and needing to be replaced. What I will not accept is the leaking air line causes the compressor to run continuously until it burns up. This could easily been prevented with a minor software update to shut down compressor when it runs beyond the normal time. Extremely disappointed in Jeep for not handling this logically!

My air suspension system is noisy and I can hear it through the night adjusting while it sits in a garage. Why would it adjust once the car is off? Second, I frequently get a message on the dash stating something like . . .Warning, Air Suspension System is overheating. Stop the car. This will happen as I'm driving down a very flat, strait, long road. Seems odd that it's doing anything at all. Why is it overheating?

I took my vehicle one year ago for regular service and I was told that my air suspension needed to be replaced - the total estimated cost was 3900.00. Since the car still functioned properly, I figured I would wait. What I didn't know was the air pump was over working and would eventually stop. Over the course of the year, the warning light came on. I tried to find alternative shops besides the dealer and found there are very few who have the know how, skill set or equipment to fix or diagnose the issue.
I decided to take my car to a different dealer. Diagnosis: a new air suspension and modular and a new air pump costing 2800.00. At this time the suspension stopped working and the rear was elevated. I found that pep boys could fix the issue cheaper - and much cheaper if I purchased the parts. Here is my frustration with Jeep, Mechanics and all repair shops. I take the vehicle to Pep boys with the parts, They do a diagnostic again, reset the module, adjust the vehicle height. Problem fixed. Well, sort of. Final repair cost - $37.50. I don't know if this is a temporary fix or not. In addition since Pep boys does not have NItrogen, I have to take the vehicle back to the dealer to have the suspension filled. Get rid of the car - or keep it?
I have a love hate relationship with my Jeep.
