This problem may be covered under warranty. Ask your Jeep dealer.
Reported the problem to the Jeep dealer before leaving on a 5 day trip. Dealer said they knew what the problem was. Promised to notify me of date to bring it in when the parts arrive. I got three emails approx. a week later telling me to bring it in 2 days later. I showed up as requested only to discover parts needed for repair were not there.
My appointment has been rescheduled. Maybe this time whoever sent those emails will check if the parts needed are available.

Noted in our parking garage where there are small speed bumps to slow down speeders, I noted hard metal on metal bang seeming from the driver's side rear suspension. Removed everything in the back and loud bang got louder. Dropped Jeep off at dealers where I bought it. They are very busy and it has sat there for 3 days waiting for a tech to check it. Luckily I have another family car to drive. Service agent does not seem aware of Jeep rear suspension problems. Waiting...
Update from May 13, 2016: Both rear shocks replaced I hope under warranty. Can pick up day 4 in shop.
