The car will shift into neutral and become undrivable. Had car towed and they say the part is a transmission control module/valve body #R8259301AC. They say this is a common problem for this model and have had many complaints of same issue. It has been 3 months and the part is not available. This seems to be a very serious and common safety issue.

I was driving in the high and when I went to accelerate the vehicle went into -??limp-?? mode. I made it to the closest dealership to get checked. The dealership explained to me the tone wheel delaminated and that is the reason my check engine light came on. The codes read camshaft position sensor issue, but the dealership said it is because of the delaminated tone wheel

Loud ticking noise from engine that speeds up upon acceleration. Failing rocker arm causing debris leading to ticking noise. No error codes. Upon personal investigation online, have found "Pentastar Tick" to be a known problem in 2013-2015 Jeep Grand Cherokees on Jeep forums. Problem can lead to misfire while driving, including jerking, damage to cam shaft, as well as engine damage.

I-??ve recently noticed when leaving my driveway my 2015 jeep grand Cherokee shifts hard / feels as if the transmission is slipping. Today out of now where my vehicle starts slowing down and the rpm is getting higher. I luckily was able to get to the side of the highway to pull over with 3 children in the car. I cut the vehicle off opened and closed the door cranked it and it drove as normal until I was a couple of miles away from home when this happened again. I could not go over 40 mph and the vehicle wasn-??t shifting it just sounded like it was reving up. I-??ve also been smelling a burning smell inside of the vehicle that smelled like burnt rubber / burning wires. The smell is worse when cutting on the seat warmers. When putting the vehicle in park it sometimes takes a few seconds before the vehicle realizes it-??s in park. My headlights at night also appear to look like they are smoking or has a certain smell to them when you get up close

The transmission fails and defaults to 3rd or 4th gear when downshifting or hitting a pothole. The vehicle then has to limp to a service center for evaluation and repair. At such low speeds during the limp for service, the highway driver is at significant risk or accident

The contact's wife owns a 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee. The contact stated that the transmission was slipping in and out of gear. The contact stated that the failure also occurred while driving below 35 MPH, and while driving from a complete stop from a traffic light. Additionally, the contact stated that after parking and exiting the vehicle, the vehicle started to move forward. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, where it was diagnosed that the transmission control module needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was contacted and referred the contact to the dealer. The vehicle was taken back to the dealer, where it was diagnosed that the transfer case, the PTU, the U-joint, and the front and rear differentials needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact related the failure to NHTSA Campaign Number: 20E037000 (Power Train). The dealer and the manufacturer informed the contact that the vehicle could not be repaired under the PTU warranty because the VIN was not included in the recall. The vehicle was not repaired. While driving my car, it will randomly shift into neutral. The engine will almost shut off while the battery will remain on. I get a message on the dash telling me to shift into gear but can only shift into park. After shifting into park, I have to turn my car off, and back on before I can shift into drive. I have had multiple parts replaced on my car to fix the issue but it is still happening. I find the car shifts to neutral when going over 55 MPH and then I lose all power.

There is loud ticking/tapping noise coming from the engine when in motion or when the engine idles. This vehicle was not inspected by the dealer (out of warranty) or the police but was inspected by my mechanic and is available for inspection anytime, upon request. At time, the noise become extremely loud and scary and is a cause for great concern, especially knowing that this vehicle is mostly driven daily on the highway for at least 1 hour one way. This noise suddenly appeared about 9 year ago as a slight ticking/tapping but got progressively worse.
