TIPM does not turn on fuel pump/turns over no start. Replaced once under extended warranty (CNA) and twice at Jeep expense. It is failing again on 6/25/2022.

Called Jeep customer care, really no help at all. You would think they would have records of this as apparently there have been hundreds of thousands reported TIPM related issues but no help.

Recalls for Jeep GCs and Durangos up to 2014 but nothing on 2015.

This needs to be addressed as a safety issue my wife was stranded for 3 hours alone on street on the river front - not a safe place.

Somehow we need to make Jeep/Chrysler step up on this. People have spent thousands on this with no relief.

After the car has been sitting idle for more than a day, you sit and press the start button, nothing happens. All the lights on the dash are lit, the engine block light is on and the run light on the starter is blinking. Tried several times, same result. exit the car, then do remote start, car starts. After all works until the next time it sits.

Grand Cherokee Summit V6

  • 4,219 miles

2015 Grand Cherokee Summit Purchased new 4/28/2016 On 6/16/16 with 793 miles on this car the whole dash lit up and the ABS was not working, the cruise control was not working and the air suspension quit working. Took car to dealer in St Charles IL and they supplied me with a loaner and did keep me up dated on the repair which took till 7/20/16. They were in touch with buisiness techs and trying to find problem. I believe it was ABS module and a wiring harness replaced so it was 34 days out of service. Next time it was 5/10/2017 and the car had 4219 miles on it. The car just would not start or even turn over. Battery was good and all dash lights came on but that was it . I called Jeep roadside assistance and the towed to St Charles Jeep. Again I was supplied with a loaner and it was about a week later when I got a call from the service manager and I was told the problem was with the TIPM module (totally integrated power module) but it was on back order till sometime mid June. Contacted Jeep customer service 6/4/17 and got a call back Monday telling me the part was in at dealership. Send 6/7/17 I spoke to the service department and was told that the TIPM did not fix problem and car still would not start. I also got a call from Jeep customer service and the girl was going to keep me updated and maybe I could get some free oil changes when the car is repaired. Really? I don't need somebody keeping me updated. This dealership has a great service department and I fully trust they are doing their best. When a a defective vehicle is produced for whatever reason the selling dealer shouldn't be expected to perform miracles. So this car let me down twice and I knew I would not be keeping it, I would not feel comfortable going on a trip any where which is a shame when these cars list over $52000. 6/12/17 this 2015 Summit was still not running and the dealer was willing to take it on a trade for a 2017 Grand Cherokee Summit although it did cost me over. $10,000. So to sum this up I bought a new 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee , owned the car for 14 months, 67 days in the service department. Jeep customer service says they may be able to get me some free oil changes on the new one I bought . Do they realize how stupid that sounds? If that's the best Jeep customer service has to offer it's extremely pathetic. I am to blame for not looking into the lemon law the first time the car was out of service over a month because IL has a rule it must be in the first twelve months of purchase. I believe FCA should take some responsibility and at the very least share the cost of this replacement but I really don't expect the corporation to do anything but turn the other way.

Another stalling episode 2 days after the vehicle was just returned following another "check" for the fourth time in less than 7 months, this is becoming an increasingly dangerous vehicle! I rang Dodge Chrysler Jeep Head Office on 17/05/16 to have this problem addressed. Obviously no one wants to speak to me, there is no urgency as I have been previously informed that someone will call me and it never happened until I called for the 3rd time threatening to take legal action that a lady whose name I shall not presently mention called me twice today. On the second call this lady promised to call me back with some arrangements for a loan car. I am terrified to drive my own car and am now working in a very remote area about 10 hours drive out of Sydney. I have been told I will not get this malfunctioning car replaced, I will not get my money refunded because it is not their policy, I was supposed to travel to work today but that did not happen because I was waiting for a call from this lady to hear whatever arrangements if any, when I called Head Office again I was told the lady was not available and a call back request put through. I do not know what else to do with this kind of customer care, can anyone help me please.

The car stalled when my family member was driving, some lights showed on the dash prior to the car stopping. The car was towed to the nearest dealership- Suttons Waitara. No decent explanation was given. I rang Customer care at Dodge Chrysler Jeep head office in Australia and asked for loan car and was instructed to call the dealership from where I bought the car- Macarthur Automotive. When I called Macathur the manager was not helpful at all, she was arrogant, instructed that the next time the car breaks down it should be towed to Macathur, yet the roadside assist people insist on towing the broken down vehicles to the nearest dealership. This woman stated I should ring head office and ask for a loan car, stating head office might give me one, but they did not have to. I was so annoyed at how the people who are supposed to help and support could be so mean and arrogant, sending me on a merry go round just to frustrate me and they continue to collect repayment instalments without fail regardless of all these faults and long periods of bull***t "service". What rule of law is there in Australia to protect unfortunate customers like myself and many others? How can this be dealt with? I feel robbed!! I am not enjoying what I am paying for.

My 2015 JGC has left me stranded for the third time in three days, causing me to miss an important meeting one day and a family funeral the next. In those three days, sometimes it starts and sometimes it doesn't. When I push the button, it just doesn't start. Lots of lights start flashing and bells beep at me. Today it flashed messages that said to service the shifter and service the electronic braking system. Then the windshield wipers started going when they were not even turned on! The dealer sent a wrecker and they are towing it to town today. I told them not to send it back until the problem is found. I'm not taking the chance that this happens a third time on an important day. I am SOOOO BEYOND mad that I owe tens of thousands on a vehicle that I bought brand new from the dealership and which has these kinds of problems ALREADY, with less than 10K miles! It's unbelievable to me.

This car is just over 12 months old from take delivery. I absolutely LOVE my Grand Cherokee, and up to this point had absolutely no issues with it. However, I also took extended warranty out at purchase, being aware of Jeep's less than stellar quality reputation. I was hoping I would be the exception, but apparently not.

Like I said, this is the best car I've owned up to this point, but if I keep getting these big repair issues, I'm going to get rid of it. Too bad, for such a terrific car, but quality speaks....

new vehicle, wouldn't turn over. jumped with battery cables, no luck. tow truck jumped with a charger, started once, vehicle behaved crazily; windshield wipers started going, lights on and off....

had towed to dealer....has started ok 20 times. no clue what the problem was. don't know if I should take a chance on getting stranded again or leave at dealer for whatever length of time it takes for it to act up again. pretty scary and definitely annoying.

Update from Jan 6, 2015: this happened again to me last Friday evening. had vehicle towed to dealer and it started fine.
