The seat belt will not latch properly, it can take up to 10 minutes or longer fasten the driver's side seat belt. Now that I have it locked, I have to crawl in and out of the seat belt. I dare not unlock the seat belt in fear that I will not be able to get it to lock back. Please note, each time I have locked and unlocked the seat belt it has progressively gotten worse to lock the seat belt. I am at the point where I now longer unlock my seat belt, as I states earlier, I fear that I will not be able to lock it back.

My passenger side seatbelt does not retract. The plastic -??D-?? ring at the top is broken and it causes the seat belt to not retract. I have read that many people have this issue. I contacted my dealer and they said there was no recall on this part. Because it does not retract, it doesn-??t -??catch-?? and causes a safety hazard. A passenger would not be restrained in an accident.

The contact owns a 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee. The contact stated that while driving 15 MPH at night on a road construction site, the vehicle's front end suddenly declined on a 10 ft deep road surface. The contact stated that she immediately depressed the brake pedal; however, the front driver's side seat belt failed to restrain her as needed, and she hit her head against the steering wheel. The contact was able to exit the vehicle. The contact sustained a concussion and two black eyes but did not receive medical assistance. The vehicle was towed to a tow lot. The contact then drove the vehicle to the residence. The contact stated that the failure occurred due to the seat belt D-ring wear. The dealer was notified of the failure and informed the contact that the front driver's side seat belt assembly needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure, but no assistance was provided. The failure mileage was approximately 123,000.

The drivers side seatbelt was not retracting correctly. We we-??re taking a road trip on 95 and as a passenger I notice my seatbelt was very loose on me. When we stopped to get out, the seatbelt literally fell out the car door. We need to drive about 150 miles back home tomorrow and we are scared to death of being thrown through the windshield if there is a sudden braking or accident. I call the closest Jeep service center and they said there was no recall for the seatbelt not retracting. However, I found this in a google search: Front Outboard Seat Belts May Not Retract Properly - X90 Warranty Extension Date: 4/15/2021 Models: -?? 2014-2015 Grand Cherokee Laredo -?? 2014-2015 Grand Cherokee Limited -?? 2014-2015 Grand Cherokee Overland -?? 2014-2015 Grand Cherokee SRT -?? 2014-2015 Grand Cherokee Summit Summary: Customers may comment on one or more of the following: The front driver and or passenger seat belts may not retract properly; A front seat belt D-ring plastic is cracked.

I purchased a used 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee 5.7L V8 Hemi on 03/03/2023 at approximately 7:30pm from Rairdon Honda in Burien Washington. The car started displaying on the dashboard that the seat belts for the passengers weren-€™t on even though the seatbelts were indeed on, and then the sensors for the airbags started going off stating that there was a problem with the airbag sensor. The car was then taken back to Rairdon Honda in Burien and they simply stated that they recently Replaced the car battery and that was the reason as to why the sensors weren-€™t working. After speaking to one of the technicians they stated since the seatbelt sensors showed that the seatbelt wasn-€™t on that incase of an accident the airbags wouldn-€™t deploy. This was not disclosed at the time of sale, I was reassured that everything would be fine when I took the car home the first time. I can-€™t risk having a car that has such severe safety issues and put my son and partner in this car knowing that the airbags could possibly fail to deploy.

Both my driver and passenger seat belts are not retracting as they should. Seat belts are really loose and puts my life at risk every time I drive my vehicle. I did take my jeep to my local auto shop and they quoted me over $1400 to get both seat belt retractors and assembly replaced. In my opinion, its something that should be replaced without cost due to manufacturing malfunction. I have not had my vehicle inspected by the manufacturer or insurance. There was no warning lamps or messages prior to failure. I bought my jeep pre owned and have only has it for 2 years. This is not a -€œwear and tear-€ situation.

I lost control of my 2015 jeep grand cherokee Laredo and crashed head on into a utility pole. The airbags did not deploy and my seat belt did not lock up on. I was traveling about 40mph at the time. The lack of restraint from the seat belt and no airbag sent me smashing into the steering wheel. No warning lights telling me something was wrong with airbag.

The front passenger seat belt malfunctioned; it does not retract and is stuck in one set position that can not be used by a passenger. Not having a working seatbelt in the front passenger seat is a significant risk to anyone that is a passenger in the front passenger seat. This problem has been inspected and confirmed by the dealer (North Olmsted Chrysler, Jeep, Dodge, Ram located in North Olmsted Ohio), but not by the manufacturer, police, insurance representatives or others. No warning lamps, messages or other symptoms of the problem prior to the failure. After the dealer inspected the seat belt, they confirmed the seat belt is covered under an "extended warranty", which may suggest this is a well known problem with the vehicle. This inspection by the dealer was completed on November 24, 2021 and the seat belt still has not been fixed by the dealer. It has been nearly three months that I have not had a working seatbelt in my vehicle due to the dealers inability to fix the problem, and luckily no one has been seriously injured or killed in that time.
