problem #2

Nov 132019

Grand Cherokee Laredo 3.6L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 20,000 miles

When in "D" or "S" mode the transmission will change to paddle mode (-/+)on its own. This is how the display will show. I am not hitting the paddle shifters by accident either. typically shifts to first gear from 30 mph to 50 mph it occurs randomly for no reason. The engine light does not come on when this happens. I've been to two dealerships 3 times that have tried to fix but because so random and no codes appear they aren't able to fix. Dealer called technical support playing the waiting game.

Filed a star report with Chrysler, and a NTSB report also.

When in "D" or "S" mode the transmission will change to paddle mode (-/+)on its own. This is how the display will show. I am not hitting the paddle shifters by accident either. Depending on the gear it shifts into the engine can really sound out of gear. This can happen at any speed and can happen 3 times in one day and then not happen for a couple weeks it occurs randomly for no reason. The engine light does not come on when this happens. I've been to two dealerships that have tried to fix but because so random and no codes appear they aren't able to fix. The last dealer ran an update on the TCM however it ended up happening again on the highway 2 days later. I love my Jeep but would really like this fixed. Dealer called technical support but no other issues similar have been reported. If anyone else has the same issue and solution would appreciate hearing from you.
