The contact owns a 2016 Jeep Grand Cherokee. As the contact shifted into the drive position, the engine revved and accelerated uncontrollably. The contact was not able to control the vehicle and crashed into a building. The side air bags on the front driver's side deployed. A police report was filed. There were minor injuries that did not require medical attention. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 11,000.

The vehicle was taken to the dealer, but the failure could not be duplicated. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was unknown. Updated 01/04/17 consumer stated car has failed mechanically 7 different times. Dealership could not locate the problem. Cars transmission slips out of drive into manual without it showing up on the shifters led symbols panel forcing one to move off the highway and placing the car from drive to park and then back into drive before the car will move. Dealership says there is nothing wrong with the vehicle. Updated 9/5/18
