My 2016 Grand Cherokee stalled while I stopped at an intersection on 8 August. This happened about 9 months ago also. It told me to put it in Drive - it was already there. I put it in Park, shut it down completely and restarted it. The dealership told me it was probably because of low oil. After reading the same issue with so many people, I called the dealership back and told them there's a serious safety issue with the 2016s. He wound up telling me that my Jeep had a software update on 11 August and that might fix the problem. That tells me they probably know it's a software issue. We'll see. Still reporting it to the sites other people on here have posted.

Grand Cherokee High Altitude 3.6L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 37,000 miles

After 6 trips to the dealership they were finally able to diagnose a bad intake actuator.

Jeep was missing and stalling consistently and wouldn't even drive home from the dealership without the check engine light going back on. I think the dealer was just as tired as seeing me as I was seeing them every day.

They replaced upper and lower oxygen sensors, and also replaced both fuel pumps before they finally successfully diagnosed the problem.

Of course this happens 1200 miles past warranty. I purchased the extended warranty because of the legendary quality that I've experienced with past FCA vehicles.

Grand Cherokee Overland 3.6L

My Jeep has been in the dealer service for the last 34 days with no end in site. The random stalling issue problem leaves no trace code. The dealer has also verified the stalling issue first hand. Chrysler Customer service has offered no help other than repeating exactly what the dealer is telling me. Under the circumstances the issue meets all the qualifications of a Lemon under the Lemon law. Chrysler is offering absolutely nothing in compensation of replacement. Chrysler has not even sent a dealer representative to review the issue even the the Dealer has requested it. Based on this total lack of reasonable customer service I will NEVER EVER purchase another Chrysler product.

My 2016 jeep grand Cherokee lost all power going down the road in front of a log truck, I pushed assist button, didn't work. I coasted to side of road, after 10 mins put it drive and it would go but dragging, skipping like shifter wasn't working. I had just had a shifter recall part put on 9 days before this happened. Jeep cust. care gave me a case number, dealership sent me back home said they updated my vehicle and couldn't find anything. carried back to dealership on Monday jeep had a flight recorder hooked to my jeep they said it had 2 cam shaft actuators bad.. lol .. still misses, ac works part time, traffic works when it wants to
